The Making of a Martyr:  The Charlie Kirk Assassination

September 16, 2025

By Alex Miller

Pisces is the zodiacal Sign associated with martyrs, as well as zealots and fanatics.  A Lunar Eclipse in Pisces three days before suspect Tyler Robinson allegedly murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk in an open-air campus venue in Utah presaged, not only Kirk’s death, but the reaction of his adherents to that tragedy, who are now treating him as a martyr.  Donald Trump has also used the term in describing the assassination.

Linguistically, there’s no doubt that Kirk fits the textbook definition of martyr, which is someone who dies for their beliefs.  This is the apparent motive of the shooter, and Kirk was killed in the very act of espousing and defending the beliefs he held dear.  Whatever your opinion of those beliefs, in agreement or dissent, it’s objectively true that Kirk was a martyr, by the standard definition.

Of course, an eclipse in Pisces doesn’t always result in martyrdom.  In this case, the placement of that eclipse in the birth chart of the victim has much to do with how his death played out.  The September 7th Lunar Eclipse showed the Moon (15 Pisces) closely conjoined Kirk’s (1) natal asteroid Gunn (16 Pisces), an alternate spelling and phonetic match for “gun,” indicating any generic firearm.  More to the point, the eclipsed Moon opposed natal asteroid Tyler (18 Virgo), then conjoined by the transit Sun (15 Virgo), firmly establishing the suspect Tyler Robinson as the most likely to have employed that gun, once the power of the eclipse gave a push to the latent natal potential.  As well, the eclipse itself formed a T-Square (2) with transit asteroid Kirkwood (20 Sagittarius), an extended version of “Kirk,” specifying just who might be under the gun.  And just one degree away was the natal placement of Tyler Robinson’s (3) natal Pluto (19 Sagittarius), known as the modern lord of death, and planetary ruler of homicide, also activated by this eclipse.

But the story doesn’t end there.  Asteroid Tyler in the sky on the day of the shooting (15 Libra) conjoined transit Mars (22 Libra), ruling firearms, attacks, and violent death.  Together, these bracketed Kirk’s natal Sun (20 Libra), making him especially susceptible to deadly acts of violence stemming from someone of the name of Tyler.

Charlie Kirk’s inborn potential for martyrdom can be seen in his birth chart by asteroid Martir (4 Virgo), an alternate spelling and phonetic match for “martyr,” which is semisquare (45 degrees) his Sun, making martyrdom a potentially intrinsic element of his identity (Sun).  Martyr is also squared (90 degrees) natal asteroid Kirkwood (2 Sagittarius), forming another personal connection to the theme of dying for one’s beliefs.  On the day of his murder, asteroid Martir in the sky (2 Gemini) was conjoined Uranus (1 Gemini), the planet ruling shootings generally, as well as shocking, extreme events.  This combination forms a T-Square with the natal placements, squaring Martir and opposing (180 degrees) Kirkwood.

The assassination continues to reverberate on social media platforms and news opinion outlets, with calls for both finding an offramp to this escalating cycle of political violence, and for ramping up the retribution.  The path the US takes now could be pivotal for its future as a free society.

Notes:  (1) Charlie Kirk born 13 October 1993, no time available

(2) a T-Square is a dynamic pattern composed of two or more plantes in opposition (180 degrees), each squared (90 degrees) a third.  It represents stress and conflict, with the fulcrum point (at the square) offering a possibility of resolution.

(3) Tyler Robinson born 16 April 2003, no time available
