Australia Severs Diplomatic Relations with Iran
By Alex Miller
On 26 August 2025, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese formally accused Iran of organizing two antisemitic attacks in Australia in 2024, using local “criminal for hire” agents. The incidents occurred in October and December of last year, involving arson directed at a kosher food company in Sydney and a synagogue in Melbourne. Australia has severed diplomatic relations with Iran, expelling its ambassador and withdrawing its own embassy staff from Tehran. The government also issued a warning to Australians resident in Iran to evacuate, for fear of reprisal.
Astrologically, Jupiter is the planet ruling foreign relations, and the skies for the day showed Jupiter (16 Cancer) in opposition (180 degrees, denoting antagonism or exposure) to asteroid NOT (17 Capricorn), a symbol of negation or refusal. This perfectly illustrates the ending (NOT) of diplomatic relations (Jupiter), while a T-Square (1) with Mars (12 Libra) indicates violent attacks (Mars) involving arson as the cause, with Mars also ruling fire and flame. Jupiter is further accompanied by modifiers which flesh out the story – asteroids Melbourne (22 Cancer), named for one of the cities where the arson occurred; Burns (14 Cancer), alluding to the arson itself; and Israel (8 Cancer), which appears in the name of one of the arson targets, the Adass Israel Synagogue, in Melbourne. In and of itself, the wide opposition between Israel and NOT suggests some form of antisemitism, in a negation or rejection (NOT) of Jewish individuals, businesses or organizations (Israel).
With the Sun’s recent entry into Virgo, fully six of the ten traditional planets appear in low degrees of various Signs, all interacting at once, affording fertile ground for global conflict and complication. In particular, the Sun (3 Virgo) is squaring (90 degrees) Uranus (1 Gemini), noted for shocking, impermissible acts, and also ruling expulsion, here represented by the expulsion of Iran’s diplomats. A Grand Cross pattern (2) is formed, fraught with tension, stress and conflict, by the addition of Damocles (3 Pisces) exactly opposed the Sun, and an exact pairing of asteroids Flamini and Flammario (both at 2 Sagittarius) opposed Uranus, which both resonate linguistically to “flames,” pointing again to the arson.

Slow-movers Saturn (0 Aries), Neptune (1 Aries), Uranus (1 Gemini) and Pluto (2 Aquarius) are all locked in a series of sextiles (60 degrees), an aspect which, in isolation, can indicate an opportunity, but when combined can lead to “one damn thing after another.” Venus (0 Leo) just joined this grouping, extending the sextile chain, with a major planet now roughly every sixty degrees apart across half the sky. The “gaps” in this circum-zodiacal sequence are currently filled by the Flamini/Flammario conjunction (2 Sagittarius) mentioned above, and by a telling cluster of points in Libra (the Sign ruling diplomacy). Namely, these points are asteroids Wong (2 Libra), signaling Penny Wong, Australia’s Foreign Minister (who also appeared at the press conference announcing the severance); Sydney (4 Libra), named for the city where one of the arson attacks occurred; Albanese (7 Libra), representing Australian PM Anthony Albanese; and Irani (also 7 Libra), indicating Iran and its citizens.
All together, this remarkable configuration forms a Grand Sextile, AKA Star of David, comprised of two interlocking Grand Trine patterns (3), with six points or groups of points equidistant from each other by sixty-degree intervals around the entire zodiac. The rarity of this assemblage cannot be overstated; sometimes seen as a blessing, sometimes a curse, having this many celestial bodies yoked together is a symbol of a tightly knit web of energy with far-reaching implications.
Within this pattern, Venus opposed Pluto also suggests the ending (Pluto, modern lord of death) of a relationship (Venus) due to a criminal act (also Pluto), harking back to Australia’s severance of its diplomatic contacts with Iran.
Notes: (1) a T-Square is a dynamic pattern composed of two or more plantes in opposition (180 degrees), each squared (90 degrees) a third. It represents stress and conflict, with the fulcrum point (at the square) offering a possibility of resolution.
(2) a Grand Cross describes a pattern where four planets or clusters of planets lie roughly 90 degrees equidistant from each other in a “cross,” indicative of a life of great stress, challenge, or terrible life choices.
(3) a Grand Trine is comprised of three or more points roughly 120 degrees equidistant from each other, indicative of free-flowing energy which may be channeled into positive or negative outcomes.
