Western Astrologer Addresses Managers at China’s Top Company

December 16, 2014

By Edward Snow

Where does management at the most innovative and fastest growing corporation in China look for insights on cyclical business trends?

The short answer to this question is everywhere they can think of, including areas that many western business leaders tend to ignore.   Astrology, for example.

Earlier this year about 100 mid- and upper-level managers at Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., in Hangzhou, China, heard astrologer David Railey and associate Felicia Jiang of Nodoor, Inc., a Beijing-based educational company, describe the astrological symbolism driving current economic trends and development worldwide.

Alibaba is the company Jack Ma founded 15 years ago in his apartment in Hangzhou. Today the e-commerce company is a multi-billion dollar enterprise and Ma reportedly the richest man in Asia.

Alibaba’s $259 billion market capitalization makes it larger than Amazon.com Inc. and EBay Inc. combined. And more valuable than all but eight companies in the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index.

Railey is a published author in China and has traveled widely on speaking tours in the country. Nodoor has created an online school that currently has more than 800 Chinese students enrolled in courses on western astrology.

Students completing the Level 5 Program and Level 5 exam are certified by Nodoor and encouraged to take the competency exam given by the International Society for Astrological

Research (ISAR).

Railey told executives at Alibaba headquarters that innovation and new ideas will continue to pressure governments and established corporate banking structures. Over the next 10 years, astrological alignments involving the planets Uranus, Jupiter and Pluto will have a major impact on internet business development, he predicted.

Railey told the Alibaba executives that Uranus is future shock. The planet deals with invention, originality, re-invention of life, thinking and social revolution in the use of products and services.

Jupiter represents the concept of expansion, popularity, growth, optimism, enthusiasm, and international perspective. Pluto deals with transformation and with power and control issues.

In western astrology Pluto is still a planet and is noticeably involved in major financial and resource shifts, he noted.

Railey said the astrological sign of Capricorn is associated with government, regulation, structure and business rules. When Pluto moved into Capricorn in 2008 the western world experienced the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

The astrological sign of Aries is identified with high energy and purposeful action. Uranus moved into Aries in 2010 and, as it travels through the sign, “the planet continues to urge people to reinvent the world now.

“With this transit there has been increased pressure for immediate results in all areas of endeavor in the world. Consumers are more impatient for instant gratification than ever,” he explained

Railey said Pluto and Uranus will form the final in a series of stressful 90 degree aspects in March of 2015. There will be a continuing struggle between computer innovations and regulatory controls until this aspect separates in 2017.

A 180-degree opposition aspect between Uranus and Jupiter starting late in December 2017 will help fuel the expansion of new internet products and services as more people become aware of the benefits these services provide.

In May 2018 Uranus moves into the sign of Taurus, which marks the beginning of a period in which the internet is increasingly used as a banking and investment platform. More and more people will be comfortable and secure with the internet as a viable alternative to traditional banks.

“During the eight year period while Uranus is in this sign, traditional banks and investment firms will join the internet, leaving behind previous banking and financial systems and methodology. Online credit and online investment will become the standard during this seven to eight-year period,” he forecast.
