Mars Station Sparks Oval Office Fireworks
by Alex Miller
On Friday, 28 February 2025, a photo op at the White House between US President Donald Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy descended into a shouting match, with Trump and Vice President JD Vance tag-teaming the embattled leader of a war-torn ally, berating and accusing him of disrespect and ingratitude. The seven-minute World Wrestling Entertainment-style smackdown was televised live, and in real time the world witnessed a tectonic shift in American foreign policy, as Trump detached the US from its traditional Western democratic allies and openly sided with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
The planet Mars, arbiter of war, conflict, aggression, anger and argument, had been retrograde in the sky since December, in apparent backward motion, but that week had slowed, come to a standstill, and resumed forward momentum. That major shift occurred just four days before the Oval Office debacle, setting the stage for the acrimony and abuse.
While the Mars station was likely to ruffle feathers and cause disagreements globally, there were also highly personal connections which roped in the countries and leaders involved in this fracas. Asteroid Zelinsky (alternate spelling of Zelenskyy) at 14 Cancer was conjoined Mars at 17 Cancer, marking the Ukrainian wartime (Mars) leader (also Mars) as the personal focus of the ire, disaffection and verbal attacks (all Mars keywords). This pairing further participates in a T-Square, a celestial pattern involving one or more points opposed (180 degrees) to a second body, both squared (90 degrees) a third. In this case, the square is to a cluster of relevant bodies: Venus at 10 Aries, with asteroids Moskva (Russian for Moscow, its capital), America (for the US) and Ukraina (named for Ukraine), at 13, 17 and 20 Aries, while the point opposed Mars is asteroid NOT at 12 Capricorn, a general disqualifier or symbol of negation, often representing a contrarian viewpoint. Venus rules diplomacy and politesse, and might have been expected to pour oil on these troubled waters, but the Mars/NOT headwinds were too strong for much active support to be lent in this instance. Venus also represents financial support, something at the heart of the dispute. Moskva, America and Ukraina, of course, represent the three nations most involved in the negotiations, doomed at that moment to dissolve into a cacophony of bickering, abuse and recrimination.
As well, additional patterns reflect the incident with startling clarity. A Grand Cross (four or more points distributed equidistantly about the zodiac, 90 degrees apart) is anchored on Pluto at 2 Aquarius, representing raw power, abuse and intimidation; squaring asteroids Whitehouse (the Oval Office) at 7 Scorpio and Kiev (Anglicized version of Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital) at 3 Taurus; opposed asteroid Troemper at 5 Leo (closest asteroid name to “Trump”), indicating Trump’s pivotal role in the aggressive interchange. Pluto also suggests a major change or transformation in the status quo, the death of the old and the birth of the new relationship between the US administration (Whitehouse) and its erstwhile ally (Kiev).
Lastly, a union of asteroids Washingtonia (for DC) and Russia at 22 and 28 Taurus is punctuated by Uranus at 23 Taurus, suggesting the shocking, controversial (Uranus) rapprochement between the US and Russia, creating a revolution (also Uranus) in global politics. This grouping squares asteroid Volodymyr at 17 Leo, identifying the personal animus directed at Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russia’s wartime opponent and a thorn in Trump’s side ever since his first impeachment, which was based on a conversation between the two men.
Once again, the celestial Above reflects the terrestrial Below.
