Israel-Hamas Peace Deal Agreed
By Alex Miller
On 9 October 2025, US President Donald Trump announced a tentative deal had been reached to end the two-year-long conflict in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. The agreement, to be enacted in phases, has some major hurdles to overcome before becoming a reality, but will commence with a ceasefire and the release of all remaining Israeli hostages held by Hamas since their October 7, 2023 attack on the Jewish state, which could occur within days. Thornier issues such as the disarmament of Hamas and the future governance of Gaza are tougher nuts to crack.
The peace was brokered by Egypt, Qatar and Turkey, under the aegis of the US, and has been described by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “a moral victory.” US State Department official Aaron David Miller, who served as a Middle East negotiator for more than two decades, stated, “The sun, the moon and the stars came together” to facilitate the Israel-Hamas ceasefire plan.
How right he is! The Sun (16 Libra) for the provisional acceptance of the framework for peace conjoins asteroids descriptive of the situation and forms a T-Square (1) with others. With the Sun are asteroids Jerusalem (9 Libra), named for the capital of Israel; Nike (17 Libra), named for the Greek goddess of victory; and Bellona (18 Libra), named for the Roman goddess of war. In square (90 degrees) are Jupiter (23 Cancer), associated with diplomacy, foreign relations and positive outcomes, conjoined asteroid Israel (21 Cancer); and asteroid NOT (21 Capricorn), a general symbol of negation or ending. This turns a bright spotlight (Sun) on successful (Nike) efforts to end (NOT) the armed conflict (Bellona) with Israel (Israel, Jerusalem) via diplomatic means by foreign governments (Jupiter). NOT here could also be an early warning signal that the process is derailed at some point, and does not result in a final, durable peace.

Mercury (4 Scorpio) also played a key role, as the arbiter of contracts, deals, treaties and newsworthy events. A conjunction with dwarf planet Haumea (2 Scorpio) encourages fixing things and healing, often in dramatic fashion, while a square to Pluto (1 Aquarius) suggests the potential for a total transformation (Pluto) of the status quo in the Mideast.
Asteroid Pax (14 Virgo), named for the Roman word for “peace,” is semisquare (45 degrees) Mercury/Haumea, underscoring the aim of the agreement. Egypt played a crucial role in the peace process, hosting negotiations at its Sharm el-Sheikh resort on the Red Sea. This is depicted by asteroid Aigyptos (12 Virgo), the Greek word from which the name “Egypt” was derived, conjunct Pax, and exactly sesquiquadrate (135 degrees) to asteroid Sharma (29 Capricorn), for the Sharm el-Sheikh venue of the talks, conjoined Pluto (major change).
Despite his current support for the peace, PM Benjamin Netanyahu prolonged the conflict for a year or more after most military objectives had been attained, perhaps in a bid to maintain his personal power. An exact conjunction of warmonger Mars with asteroid Benjamina, a feminine variant of Benjamin (both at 11 Scorpio) suggests his stubbornness (Mars) in postponing the conflict’s (Mars also) end; a square from asteroids Washingtonia (11 Leo) and America (16 Leo) indicates the pressure applied (square) by the US (America) and its government (Washingtonia, for DC) in ensuring his compliance.
There is no perfect celestial marker for Gaza, but asteroid Gaze comes close (sometimes rendered as Gase, this point was named for Russian astronomer Vera Gaze). Gaze (25 Gemini) appears at station (2), suggesting a major turning point for the region, which successful implementation of this agreement would surely create. With Gaze is asteroid Nobel (26 Gemini) also at station, named for Alfred Nobel, of Nobel Prize fame. These points align with Donald Trump’s natal Sun (22 Gemini), for whom the award of the Nobel Peace Prize has been a long-cherished dream. If his efforts here to end the decades-long conflict between Israel and Palestine don’t get him to that goal, what would?
Notes: (1) A T-Square is a dynamic pattern composed of two or more planets in opposition (180 degrees), each squared (90 degrees) a third. It represents stress and conflict, with the fulcrum point (at the square) offering a possibility of resolution.
(2) Stations are periods when, from our perspective on Earth, a planet appears to slow its movement, come to a standstill, and reverse course. This is an optical illusion created by the triangulation between the sun, Earth, and any third celestial body; astrologically, it represents a focusing of the energies associated with that point, and often coincides with major life events or a radical recalibration of how that point has functioned previously.
