Knicks Become Champions with Assists from Venus and Jupiter

June 18, 2026

By Cesar Love

The New York Knickerbockers’ incredible post-season run, which included 13 consecutive wins, a record comeback game, and the 2025-26 NBA championship, occurred under the blessings of the Venus-Jupiter conjunction.

The birth chart of the New York Knicks (born June 6, 1946) (1) includes a natal conjunction (0 degrees) between Venus (16 Cancer) and Saturn (22 Cancer). Harsh aspects between Saturn and Venus can bring delays in gratification as the severity of Saturn squelches the love and pleasure that Venus desires. In the sign of Cancer, this pain is particularly felt by the fans, as Cancer and the Moon rule the fanbase of a sports team. Indeed, Knicks fans had waited 53 years since 1973 to win a championship. Their wait was rewarded under the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter, two auspicious planets whose energy is considered counter to Saturn.

The Knicks’ 13-game win streak began with a win against the Atlanta Hawks on April 25 (2) while Jupiter (18 Cancer) was conjunct to their Venus and Saturn. The streak ended when New York lost Game Three of the Finals to San Antonio on June 10. Soon they returned to winning and captured Games Four and Five. When they won the NBA championship on June 13, Jupiter had progressed to 26 Cancer.  Venus meanwhile would travel through the signs of Gemini and Cancer during the Knicks’ championship run. When in Gemini, Venus formed favorable conjunctions to the Knicks Sun (15 Gemini), Uranus (17 Gemini) and Mercury (22 Gemini). Venus and Jupiter finally conjoined on June 10 at 25 Cancer, the day that the Knicks staged their record 29-point comeback for the ages to win Game Four.

The Knicks then won Game Five and the NBA championship on June 13 at precisely 10:29 pm CDT in San Antonio with the Descendant (21 Cancer) conjunct the Knicks’ natal Saturn (22 Cancer). When the final buzzer sounds to end a championship game, there is inevitably an aspect from an axis point (e.g., Ascendant or Midheaven) to Saturn in transit or to Saturn in the natal chart of the winning team. Saturn brings delays and frustrations, but the Great Malefic also rewards those who persevere. A team that survives the injuries and ups and downs of the long nine-month basketball season to reach the Finals has reaped the rewards of Saturn. The Knicks’ reward was particularly heartwarming because the aspects happened in the sign of Cancer. New Yorkers, often considered gruff and cold, were seen hugging one another on the streets. Indeed, the city of New York erupted in a mass kumbaya! (3)

Knicks’ point guard Jalen Brunson (4) won the Series MVP award for his clutch play. Like his team, Brunson has a birth chart that allowed him to take advantage of the Venus-Jupiter conjunction. His natal chart includes an opposition (180 degrees) of Neptune (25 Capricorn) to Venus (23 Cancer) and Mars (24 Cancer). Consequently, both his Mars and Venus received conjunctions from Jupiter and Venus during the NBA Finals. Neptune represents long-held dreams and ideal accomplishments. It is the fantasy of many a youth to win an NBA championship, and Brunson made his wish come true. Interestingly, Brunson underwent a Saturn Return during the playoffs as Saturn passing through Aries made a conjunction to his natal Saturn (5 Aries). Saturn Returns are usually difficult growth periods as one faces challenges of responsibility in realms that may have been neglected. Jalen Brunson, however, thrived during his Saturn Return and did so on a national stage. This speaks volumes to his maturity.

On the losing side, San Antonio’s star center Victor Wembanyama would not receive the blessings of Saturn. The birth chart of Wembanyama (5) includes a T-Square (6) between his Sun (13 Capricorn), Saturn (9 Cancer), and Mars (11 Aries). With so much Saturn and Capricorn in his chart, Wembanyama looks like he could have channeled the necessary Saturn energy to bring the Larry O’Brian trophy to San Antonio.  Indeed, Saturn in Aries was directly conjunct his Mars during the Finals. But he couldn’t quite meet the moment when the pressure was on, missing crucial free throws that could have won games. Only 22-years-old, he also showed a lack of maturity by not shaking hands with opponents when his team ultimately lost. (7) This behavior was a manifestation of his Mars in Aries, perhaps the most youthful of aspects.

Even below the beams of Venus and Jupiter, the maturity of Saturn ultimately defeats the youth of Mars.
