Planets Align for Venezuela in Grudge Match vs USA

Venezuela defeated the USA in the 2026 World Baseball Classic under astrological transits to the Venezuelan birth chart that unleashed joy within the troubled nation. Transits for the championship game also echoed those of the recent U.S. invasion of Venezuela.

The final out of the World Baseball Classic occurred at 10:55 pm EDT on March 17, 2026, in Miami, Florida. At that moment, the Ascendant (13 Scorpio) completed a Grand Trine (1) to the Moon (15 Pisces) and Jupiter (15 Cancer). This Grand Trine was itself conjunct (0 degrees) the Grand Water Trine of Venezuela’s founding (2) with the victory Ascendant conjunct Venezuela’s Uranus (14 Scorpio), transiting Jupiter conjunct Venezuela’s Sun (12 Cancer), and transiting Moon conjunct the country’s Pluto (18 Pisces).

The Associated Press reported that the victory brought an outpouring of “the happiness Venezuelans kept bottled up for years.” (3) Their government’s brutal repressive measures had made locals cautious about expressing public joy for a candidate’s victory or even for the ousting of head of state Nicolás Maduro. Triple-digit inflation and a gravely uncertain future also dampen Venezuelans’ opportunities for joy. With a big gap between the rich and poor, there has been little to unite Venezuela. The nation’s natal Moon in Capricorn, a placement that chokes off the natural flow of emotion, often manifests in symptoms of depression. In the chart of a nation, the Moon also represents the collective sentiments of its people.

But as Venezuelans celebrated the victory of their baseball team, their national Grand Water Trine poured out all its emotions. This dam break was instigated by Venezuela’s natal Uranus. The Pluto-South Node is also part of a Grand Cross (4) with North Node in Virgo; Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter in Gemini; and Saturn in Sagittarius. Planets in Gemini have a need to verbally express themselves but here are squelched by the opposition from Saturn in Sagittarius, a placement that claims authority over knowledge and learning. The free speech that Geminis crave is denied as press censorship is rampant in Venezuela. (4) Meanwhile, Pluto is square to both Saturn and the Gemini planets, making the battles between them more desperate by adding concerns about possible misuse of power and the threat of death (both Pluto).

The United States military action in Venezuela that ousted Nicolás Maduro happened on January 3, 2026, around 2:00 a.m., during a Full Moon that intensely challenged Venezuela’s Sun, which is a symbol of the head of state. As Maduro was captured by U.S. forces, the Moon (10 Cancer) conjoined Venezuela’s Sun (12 Cancer) at the same time that a triple conjunction of the Sun and Venus (both 12 Capricorn) and Mars (14 Capricorn) opposed Venezuela’s Sun. This military action can be viewed as a liberation or an act of aggression by the U.S. Nevertheless, a fascinating aspect unites the American invasion and the World Baseball Classic. The U.S. Sun (13 Cancer) happened to closely conjunct Venezuela’s Sun (12 Cancer), so when the two nations competed on March 17 in the World Baseball Classic, Venus (14 Aries) was square the Suns of both nations. Venus and its ruling sign Libra seek balance. When the scales tip in favor of one party over another, Venus seeks recompense for the aggrieved party. Perhaps Venezuela’s defeat of the U.S brought about a kind of cosmic compensation, to restore balance between the two nations.

It is documented that when a team wins a professional World Series championship, inevitably there is an exact aspect from an axis point (e.g., Ascendant or Midheaven) to Saturn, (6) symbolic of the Ringed Planet crowning the champions. No such aspect occurred in Miami when the World Baseball Classic ended, but in Caracas, the Ascendant (0 Sagittarius) formed a trine to Neptune (1 Aries) and Saturn (3 Aries). Saturn still crowns the champions.

The World Baseball Classic, which began in 2006, is a relatively new venue for international sports competitions. It lacks the institutional grandeur of the World Cup and the Olympic Games. But in this arena, Venezuela’s birth chart provides a lens to understand its baseball team’s victory. If one nation’s birth chart proved its relevance in the WBC, other nations’ birth charts can surely show their stuff in other arenas.
