Super Bowl Halftime Show Ignites America’s Aquarian Values

February 17, 2026

Bad Bunny threw a lightning bolt, and the U.S. Aquarius Moon caught it

By Cesar Love

The halftime show of Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8, 2026, will be remembered long after the game is forgotten. Memorable Super Bowl halftime shows include Janet Jackson baring a breast in 2004 and Michael Jackson rubbing his crotch in 1993. In 2016, Beyoncé performed a halftime tribute to the Black Panther Party, but defiant political content is rare in halftime shows. Bad Bunny’s performance, which challenged the Trump administration on issues of immigration and colonization, reflects the radical energy inherent in the Aquarius Moon of the United States.(1) That such radical content emerged on the nation’s largest stage is a reflection of how the planets were aligned on Feb 8, 2026.

The Sign of Aquarius and its ruling planet Uranus are champions for the underclasses and the marginalized: immigrants, minorities, workers, gays, the list is long. Aquarius and Uranus side with the causes of equality, democracy, civil rights and brotherhood across ethnic and cultural divides. Bad Bunny’s show occurred under a square (90 degrees) between the Sun (20 Aquarius) and Venus (28 Aquarius) to Uranus (27 Taurus). The Sun and Venus were in strong conjunctions (0 degrees) to the United States (27 Aquarius) Moon while Uranus was square to the U.S. Moon.

The United States is currently struggling through a reactionary period, but the country has not lost its Aquarius Moon. The nation’s Aquarian DNA contains the founding principles of equality and democracy and an intention to embrace humanity across cultural and ethnic differences. It is an ongoing challenge and mission of the U.S. to embody these Aquarian ideals. At times, the United States has excelled. Other times, it has failed. This nation has invited immigrants onto its shores while also practicing genocide against the native population. The nation abolished slavery but maintains racist attitudes. The triumphs and failures of the Sign of Aquarius, and of humanity itself, are all present in the United States Moon.

It is an Aquarian impulse to reach beyond mainstream definitions of what is worthy culture. Bad Bunny challenged the Trump-era narrative of a monolithic white-centric America by showcasing the culture and people of Puerto Rico. He performed almost his entire show in Spanish, another challenge to the MAGA notion that English is the only relevant language in the U.S. His protest against the ICE raids included the moment he gave his Grammy Award to half-Egyptian child actor Lincoln Fox Ramadan,(2) whom many consider a representation of Liam Conejo Ramos, the 5-year-old boy detained by ICE in Minnesota.

Freedom and independence movements are also Aquarian impulses. Bad Bunny carried the flag of Puerto Rico that contains a light shade of blue, a symbol of the independence movement in his homeland. (The official flag of Puerto Rico has a shade of blue that matches the American flag.) The halftime show culminated in a parade of flags of the Latin American nations. This display of flags, asserting the existence and relevance of the people and cultures of Latin America, occurred at 5:30 pm PST in Santa Clara, CA, with the Descendant (19 Aquarius) precisely conjunct the Sun, further amplifying the Aquarian energy of the moment.

The transits to Bad Bunny’s birth chart are also noteworthy. He was born March 10, 1994, (3) with (24 Aquarius) Mercury square to (28 Scorpio) Pluto. Mercury in Aquarius has an unflinching commitment to the truth, to see things as they truly are and let everyone else know it. Add a square from the dark planet Pluto, and Bad Bunny will explore the dark places, then talk about all that is vile and unjust. On the day of his show, the Sun and Venus were conjunct his Mercury, amplifying his voice. Bad Bunny also has Venus (2 Aries) at a degree from which to channel the current conjunction of Neptune and Saturn on the cusp between Pisces and Aries. Currently, the Neptune-Saturn conjunction is the most influential of the Outer Planet transits, which bring the spirit of the times. Bad Bunny was certainly riding high on the zeitgeist!

There are further elements of the halftime show to deconstruct:

The live wedding(4) was a manifestation of the Venus conjunction to the U.S. Moon. Venus is the planet of love, romance, and weddings. The bride, groom, and pastor were not Hollywood actors. No, that would have occurred under a Neptune aspect. This wedding occurred under a Uranus aspect. Yes, it was real! Uranus brings the true and the real. A wedding also symbolizes hope and the future.

The show included electrical workers on utility poles(5) while Bad Bunny sang his song “El Apagón.” This song makes a protest against LUMA, the electrical power monopoly in Puerto Rico, which is responsible for the island’s unreliable power grid and its frequent blackouts. This moment brought extraordinary Aquarian and Uranian symbolism. Electrical workers fall under the rulership of Aquarius and Uranus. Symbolically, they channel the energy of the planet Uranus. They renew the hope and ideals inherent in the Sign of Aquarius, the race of humanity, and the United States.
