A look back and a look ahead

March 3, 2025

By Sue Kientz

A look back at Friday, February 28:

The Zelenskyy meeting at the White House(1) is a study in the interrelationships of planets and people: Saturn (20 Pisces) the planet of slowing things down and attitudes trending negative, with the Moon (19 Pisces), heightening emotions and in view of the American people (both Moon symbols), was

  1. Square (90 degrees) President Donald Trump’s Sun (22 Gemini) and Moon (21 Sagittarius),(2) which hits Trump in his huge ego (Sun) and easily offended feelings (Moon), leading to an argument with Ukraine’s president before a planned lunch and signing of a minerals pact, all part of a now shattered peace deal;
  2. Semi-square (45 degrees, a milder impact than the square) Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Sun and Venus (both 5 Aquarius),(3) causing him embarrassment and fear of losing financial support for defense of Ukraine against Russia, due to this sudden reversal in Trump’s attitude. Zelenskyy is then officially “thrown out” of the White House; and
  3. Square the U.S. Mars (21 Gemini) and opposite U.S. Neptune (22 Virgo),(4) angering Americans of all stripes and parties (Mars = anger) and causing confusion and uncertainty (both Neptune) as to what will happen to Ukraine’s future, since most people support Ukraine and Zelenskyy, having witnessed how Putin invaded Ukraine and waged a war that the U.S. helped Ukraine fight for the last three years. Soon after the fracas, Americans learned that Russia’s TASS news service was at the Oval Office, covering the meeting between the two presidents to the delight of Putin and Russians watching the humiliation unfold on TV.(5)

Impact: Zelenskyy has been considered less at fault. He received positive messages from a number of European leaders pledging their full support. Zelenskyy then traveled to UK to meet with King Charles and Prime Minister Starmer, the latter even giving Zelenskyy a hug in public.

A look forward to Trump’s bicameral speech to Congress, Tuesday, March 4:

Saturn has a way to go to reach 22 Pisces and exactly square Trump’s Sun (March 18; the date to avoid a government shutdown is March 14), but right now it’s close enough for him to be contrary, stubborn, defensive, and hemmed in (negative Saturn experiences). But Saturn will reach 21 Pisces and exactly square Trump’s Moon on Tuesday, March 4, at 9 p.m. ET, as he begins his televised speech to a joint session of the U.S. Congress. Federal employees who have been fired en masse in recent weeks have been invited to attend by Democrats. Protests in state capitals all over the country are planned to coincide with Trump’s speech. His thin skin will likely be stretched to the limit by the response he gets throughout the country and at the fully televised confrontation with congress, and with Uranus conjunct the Moon (23 Taurus) closely semisquare his Mercury adding even more tension, he is not going to suffer silently. To quote Trump’s comment on the February 28 Oval Office debacle, “This is going to be great television.”(6)
