A Perfect Time for No Kings Protests
By Sue Kientz
How did the organizers of America’s second “No Kings” nationwide peaceful protest pick such a perfect day, an absolutely apt and fine time, to invite fellow Americans of all stripes and opinions, attracting roughly 6.5 million of them, to join the largest peaceful political protest ever held in U.S. history?(1)
I’m not talking about the rather mild and pleasant weather seen in many photos and videos posted on social media and then replayed on TV and online news outfits. I’m talking about the meta-weather, the farther out heavens that display esoteric markers of our storms and calm seas. How did these people pick such a perfect astrological time that not only produced conduct grounded in good will across the entire breath of the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii and even international sites), but one that speaks of the deep motivations behind the massive gathering? Serendipity as usual, which doesn’t stop with only person-to-person meaningful coincidence but radiates ever outward as well. Here’s what I mean:
The No Kings Protest event began on the east coast of America on October 18, 2025, as transiting Sun at 25 Libra (marker of an event meant to promote life and love, and ideally strike a balance), opposed (separated by 180 degrees) dwarf planet Eris at 25 Aries (symbol of community, connection, referent of those feeling disenfranchised or who care if others feel left out, not included in society). Appearing next to Eris, Chiron, at 24 Aries, represents pain, a wound, some injury suffered, symbolizing how fraught and battered a huge swath of this community feels since Donald Trump became president, as his actions (enumerated so well elsewhere) have disappointed, disturbed, and often downright shocked a majority of his country’s residents. Bisecting this Sun-Eris/Chiron opposition is Jupiter at 24 Cancer, which when square (at a 90 degree angle) the Sun describes a man of considerable appetites and desires who enjoys riches and luxuries, and considers that these are his due, even his right. Such a man appears to feel entitled to act like a king of old times, even as that was not what he took an oath to do on his first day as president.
In addition, Jupiter exactly conjoins the U.S. Mercury position of 24 Cancer, where it was when the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776. (2) When united with the Declaration’s Mercury, Jupiter gives uplift to the voices of the people (Mercury, communication), so their message refuting a King’s rule is heard loud and clear (Jupiter as intensifier, making efforts strong and importune).
But what effect is this making with the target of their complaints? Can the high heavens inform of that inner state? One helpful alternate use of planetary transits, one where you take every day of each bodies’ motions as if representing a year, shows that in all this time up until now, such a progressed Moon from the Declaration has arrived at 13 Aries, a challenging square (denoting changes must be made or risk negative outcomes) to the U.S. Declaration Sun (symbol of the chief executive as well as the life and health of the republic). The angle is quite exact, and more likely than not, as Shakespeare once opined, uneasy lies the head that wears the (imagined) crown.(3)

Her experience researching the latter led to her book More Plutos, which received a 2016 eLit Award. More Plutos also addresses how resonance, fractals, and intuition can explain how astrology works.
