Asteroid America in the Natal Chart of Donald Trump

Asteroid America (916) is a minor planet orbiting the Sun in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, discovered on 7 August 1913 by the Russian astronomer Grigory Nikolaevich Neujmin at the Simeiz Observatory. The asteroid was named after the continent America. (1)

For the purposes of this article, asteroid America (916) is taken to represent the United States, and its transits are examined in relation to the natal chart of Donald Trump. In his chart, asteroid America (28 Leo), closely conjoins Mars (26 Leo), very near the Ascendant (29 Leo), the point associated with personal identity, visibility, and expression in the world. Mars represents the head, the color red, and traits such as action and energy; therefore, the conjunction between Mars and asteroid America suggests a strong personal identification with national power, initiative, and leadership. This can be symbolized in the red cap worn by his followers, with the words “Make America Great Again” or in words such as “America First”.

A number of events during Trump’s political life show significant contacts between the transiting asteroid America and his natal chart.(2)

On 13 July 2024, during a campaign event, Trump survived an assassination attempt. At that time, asteroid America (10 Aquarius) was retrograde, forming an exact opposition (180 degrees) to his natal Pluto, a planet often associated with crisis and danger, and planetary ruler of homicide.

On 20 January 2025, the day of Trump’s second inauguration as president of the United States, asteroid America (22 Pisces) formed a square to his natal Sun (22 Gemini) and natal Moon (21 Sagittarius)—a configuration suggesting tension affecting his wants (Sun) and needs (Moon).

On 1 February 2025, when Trump announced tariffs affecting Mexico, Canada, and China, asteroid America had just entered 0 Aries, the start of the zodiac, symbolizing a new cycle of economic initiative.

On 28 February 2025, during a tense meeting between Trump and the president of Ukraine at the White House, asteroid America (16 Aries) opposed Trump’s natal stationary direct Jupiter (17 Libra), an aspect often associated with diplomatic conflict or disagreement in international relations.

On 7 March 2025, Trump cancelled federal grants to Columbia University. At that time, asteroid America (21 Aries) was close to the cusp of the Ninth House, traditionally associated with universities, higher education, and legal institutions.

On 15 March 2025, the day large-scale deportations reportedly began, asteroid America (26 Aries) formed a trine to Trump’s natal Mars, natal America, and Ascendant. Mars symbolism often relates to confrontation, enforcement, and expulsion.

On 2 April 2025, referred to by Trump as “Liberation Day”, asteroid America (7 Taurus) formed a sextile (60 degrees) to Trump’s natal Mercury (8 Cancer), a planet associated with trade, commerce, and negotiations.

On 30 April 2025, when Trump reached the first 100 days of his second presidency, asteroid America (24 Taurus) fell exactly on his Midheaven, which is linked to reputation, authority, and public standing.

On 17 June 2025, Trump announced that he would decide within two weeks whether the United States would attack Iran. At that time, asteroid America was exactly conjunct his natal Sun (22 Gemini). On 22 June, at commencement of the military action later known as Operation Midnight Hammer in the context of the Twelve-Day War, asteroid America (24 Gemini) remained in contact with Trumps’ natal Sun.

On 17 July 2025, the Wall Street Journal reported that a collection of letters gifted to Jeffrey Epstein for his fiftieth birthday allegedly included a note bearing Trump’s name. Trump denied writing the letter and threatened legal action. At that time, asteroid America was conjunct his natal Mercury (8 Cancer), highlighting themes of communication, media, and public statements, as well as written personal notes and letters.

On 15 August 2025, Trump met with Vladimir Putin in Alaska. Asteroid America (22 Cancer) conjoined Trump’s natal Saturn (23 Cancer), an aspect associated with responsibility and authority, also ruling heads of state.

On 20 August 2025, Trump publicly condemned an assault on a homeless man in Boston, stating that violence should never be condoned. At that moment, asteroid America was conjunct his natal Venus (25 Cancer), ruling peace and harmony.

On 23 September 2025, Trump addressed the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, emphasizing an “America First” agenda. Asteroid America was exactly conjunct his natal Pluto (10 Leo), symbolizing themes of power and national transformation.

On 9 November 2025, when the U.S. Senate voted to reopen the government after a shutdown, with asteroid America (26 Leo) exactly conjunct Trump’s natal Mars, symbolizing the disagreements that had prompted the shutdown.

On 14 November 2025, Trump stated he knew nothing about individuals mentioned in newly released Epstein-related emails. Asteroid America (28 Leo) marked its return to its natal position in his chart.

On 22 November 2025, when Trump gave Ukraine less than a week to accept his proposal to end the war with Russia, asteroid America (29 Leo) exactly conjoined his Ascendant.

On 3 January 2026, when the United States carried out a military action in Caracas, capturing Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, asteroid America (3 Virgo) was retrograde, still close to his Ascendant (29 Leo).

On 23 January 2026, negotiators from Ukraine, the United States, and Russia held their first trilateral meeting since the start of the war. Asteroid America was again exactly conjunct Trump’s Ascendant (29 Leo).

On 31 January 2026, Trump instructed the Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, not to intervene in protests occurring in cities governed by Democrats unless local authorities requested federal assistance. Asteroid America, still retrograde, was again at its return degree (28 Leo).

On 5 February 2026, during discussions with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom regarding concerns about continued Russian attacks, asteroid America was retrograde, exactly conjunct Trump’s natal Mars (26 Leo), ruling war and conflict.

On 8 February 2026, Bad Bunny participated in the Super Bowl halftime and Trump expressed that the performance was “the worst, ever”.   America (25 Leo) was retrograde in conjunction to Trump’s natal Mars (26 Leo), ruling sports and animosity.

On 28 February 2026, during the military operation known as Operation Epic Fury, when Israel and the United States launched airstrikes on Iran, asteroid America (20 Leo) was retrograde, forming a sextile with Trump’s North Node (20 Gemini).

On 5 March 2026, Trump removed Kristi Noem from her position at the Department of Homeland Security Secretary and on March 7, 2026, President Trump held the inauguration summit “Shield of the Americas”.  Asteroid America (19 Leo) was retrograde with a sextile to Trump’s natal Jupiter (17 Libra) and sextile to his North Node (20 Gemini).

Taken together, these events illustrate the repeated activation of Trump’s natal chart by the transits of asteroid America.  And now looking ahead, several upcoming transits of asteroid America may correspond to important developments:

5 April 2026 — America (16 Leo) sextile natal Uranus

8 June 2026 — America conjunct natal Mars (26 Leo)

13 June 2026 — third pass of the return of asteroid America to its natal position (28 Leo)

19 June 2026 — America conjunct Ascendant (29 Leo)

23 August 2026 – America (22 Virgo) squares natal Sun (22 Gemini) and natal Moon (21 Sagittarius)

27 September 2026 – America (5 Libra) conjunct natal Neptune

21 October 2026 – America (14 Libra) conjunct natal Chiron

30 October 2026 – America (17 Libra) conjunct natal Jupiter

These dates may coincide with turning points in Trump’s political trajectory.
