Attack in Teotihuacán, Mexico

April 25, 2026

by Ana Andrade

On 20 April, at approximately 11:00 a.m., an attack occurred at the ancient pyramid of the Moon in Teotihuacán, one of Mexico’s most visited and iconic tourist destinations.

The attacker, later identified as 27-year-old Julio César Jasso Ramírez, a Mexican citizen residing in Mexico City, reportedly climbed to the top of the Pyramid of the Moon and opened fire on nearby tourists.(1) A Canadian woman was killed, thirteen visitors from different countries were injured (2), and the gunman later took his life.

Mexican authorities stated that the attacker acted alone. Among his belongings, investigators reportedly found a handgun, a knife, as well as images and manuscripts apparently linked to acts of violence associated with events that occurred in the United States in April 1999. One witness claimed to have heard the attacker reference Columbine High School massacre, the school shooting that took place on 20 April 1999, exactly 27 years earlier, in which 13 people were killed by two teenagers.

The evidence collected appears to suggest a psychological profile shaped by imitation, drawing from violent events that occurred in other places and at other times. (1) (2)

From an astrological perspective, the attack at Teotihuacán occurred with Mercury and Mars conjunct at 8 Aries, a configuration that may symbolize impulsivity, aggression, and individual action. Closely aligned with this conjunction was Saturn at 7 Aries, a planet often associated with mortality, ancient structures, elevation, history and the past.

The Moon was positioned at 14 Gemini, ruled by Mercury, once again emphasizing themes connected to movement and the young people. Meanwhile, Jupiter, often linked to travel and tourism, was at 17 Cancer, a sign ruled by the Moon. Notably, the attack occurred at the Pyramid of the Moon, creating an additional symbolic layer.

There are further astrological parallels with the Columbine tragedy. Because both events occurred on 20 April, they share the Sun at 0 Taurus. Additionally, Neptune at 2 Aries during the Teotihuacán attack was conjunct Mercury at 3 Aries and the Midheaven of the Columbine chart. Pluto at 5 Aquarius aligned with Columbine’s Neptune at 4 Aquarius, while the Moon at 14 Gemini formed a wide conjunction with Columbine’s Venus at 9 Gemini. Jupiter at 17 Cancer also formed a square to Columbine’s Jupiter at 15 Aries. (3)

Further correlations emerge when comparing the Teotihuacán transits to the natal charts of the Columbine perpetrators, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. (4)

For Eric Harris, the Teotihuacán transits show Neptune conjunct Mercury (2 Aries), squaring his Moon (2 Cancer) and opposing both his retrograde Saturn (5 Libra) and retrograde Jupiter (3 Libra). (5)

For Dylan Klebold, the conjunction of Mercury, Mars (both at 8 Aries), and Saturn (7 Aries) opposed his Saturn (9 Libra). Jupiter at 17 Cancer aligned with his Midheaven at 21 Cancer, while Venus at 25 Taurus and Uranus at 29 Taurus opposed his Uranus at 26 Scorpio. Additionally, Pluto at 5 Aquarius opposed his Mars at 6 Leo. (6)

The symbolism of the Pyramid of the Moon is particularly striking. In astrology, the Moon is often associated with cycles, memory, collectivity, and repetition—themes that, in this case, may suggest the resurfacing of events from the past.

The numerical parallels are also notable. The attacker in Teotihuacán was 27 years old, the same number of years separating the Teotihuacán attack from the Columbine High School massacre. The number 27 also evokes the traditional lunar mansions, further reinforcing lunar symbolism.

The number 13 appears as another striking repetition: it was the reported number of people injured in Teotihuacán and also the number of victims killed in Columbine. Symbolically, 13 may be associated with the number of lunar returns that occur within a calendar year.

Finally, during the Teotihuacán event, the Moon was positioned at 14 Gemini. Notably, reports indicate that the gunman fired 14 shots at the victims, adding yet another numerical correspondence to the event’s broader symbolic pattern. (2)
