Venus Meets Her Father Uranus

April 20, 2026

by Ana Andrade

On 23 April, 2026, Venus–Uranus conjunction in Taurus perfects at 29 Taurus, the final degree of the Sign, known as the anaretic degree, traditionally associated with heightened intensity, culmination, and critical turning points.

Venus, considered a benefic planet, governs beauty, romance, desire, fertility, creativity, and attraction. In mythology, she is born from Uranus, the primordial sky god, whose symbolism in astrology encompasses disruption, innovation, sudden change, and awakening. When Saturn castrates his father, symbolically usurping his role, he casts the severed genitals into the sea, where they combine with foam to birth Venus.  The resonance between them carries over into their glyphs, the symbols used to represent them.  Venus’ glyph is inverted within the glyph of Uranus. This conjunction therefore carries something additional: Venus returns to meet her origin, merging harmony with upheaval.

The encounter occurs in Taurus, a Sign traditionally ruled by Venus and associated with stability, persistence, sensuality, and material security. Taurus embodies groundedness, fertility, pleasure, and endurance, qualities that seek continuity and preservation. Uranus, however, operates in contrast: it disrupts established structures, catalyzes revolution, and introduces unexpected breakthroughs, particularly in areas related to technology, science, and collective progress.

This tension between stability and disruption becomes especially potent at the last degree of a Sign. It suggests a culmination of Taurian themes—resources, values, and security— in a context of sudden shifts or awakenings.

Interestingly, and without impugning her status as benefic planet and her symbolism, Venus herself carries a paradoxical nature. Astronomically, Venus rotates in a retrograde (or backward) direction compared to most planets, and a single Venusian day exceeds its year—features that symbolically echo themes of uniqueness. Mythologically linked with Mars yet bound in marriage, Venus reflects both attraction and contradiction, harmony, passion and tension.

What is also curious is that a notable precedent occurred in July 2025, when a similar Venus–Uranus conjunction took place at the same 29 Taurus. The period was marked by events that mirrored the symbolism of sudden disruption intersecting with Venusian themes:

On 3 July 2025, the tragic death of Diogo Jota, Portuguese soccer player, and his brother in a car accident in Spain. Jota had married just 11 days earlier, juxtaposing themes of union (Venus) with abrupt loss (Uranus). The accident (a Uranian event in itself) involved a luxury vehicle—an emblem of Venusian symbolism—struck by a sudden tire blowout, reflecting Uranian unpredictability. (1)

On 4 July 2025, Donald Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act in the United States, blending Venusian language (“Beautiful”) with large-scale economic and structural reform—domains often activated by Uranus. (2)

On 4 July 2025, severe flash flooding in Texas, particularly along the Guadalupe River, resulted in significant loss of life and rapid, overwhelming natural forces—another manifestation of sudden, uncontrollable change. Loss of life was greatest at a girls’ summer camp, where more than two dozen died, with Venus signaling females. (3)

These events illustrate how the Venus–Uranus dynamic can manifest across different domains: personal, social, political and environmental. They often carry themes of surprise, rupture, liberation, innovation, or sudden reversal—particularly in areas tied to value, relationships, resources, and stability.

As Venus meets Uranus once again at the final degree of Taurus, similar patterns may emerge: unexpected developments related to finances, relationships, technology, or the natural world. Hopefully, this time with good news. What is clear is the symbolic resonance of this moment: Venus, in her own Sign, encounters Uranus—the force that challenges, awakens, and transforms, for the last time in Taurus, as they both will continue their annual encounters in the following Signs, in years to come.
