Leaves from a Financial Astrologer’s Notebook: 2026 in Preview

January 13, 2026

By Christeen Skinner

The Earth, Moon and Sun are aligned and unusually close as the new year begins. Emotions could run high and recent news from Venezuela and Iran should not surprise. 2026 is set to be a year of turbulence.

From the Sun’s entry into Aquarius on January 20th, through to 26th, I anticipate many shocks and surprises. With so much planetary activity on one side of the Sun, we might also see intense solar flares – with yes, the prospect of satellites being affected. Back up your computer files in case electrical circuits are affected.

The end of January also finds Saturn and Neptune in the final phase of their 35-year cycle. A poor, exhausted Saturn in the last degrees of Pisces suggests quicksand – with ideas aplenty but lacking energy to see them to reality – yet.

In financial terms, Saturn can be a depressant. The alignment with Neptune could see a fall in oil prices as the global world order shifts. The collective effect – together with technological advances – suggests price moves that affect all sectors of the economy.

Uranus’ Gemini ingress on April 25th indicates new chapters for technology, communication, and, probable political brinkmanship. This brings scope for new investments: sectors to look out for are those specializing in miniaturization. Small is set to be very, very beautiful.

Nor should we forget Pluto, which is settling into Aquarius. Digital sovereignty and the future of global currency is coming to the fore. Are digital borders more fragile than we realize?
