Leaves from a Financial Astrologer’s Notebook:  April 2026

Historians may one day view Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine as a defining turning point in a wider global conflict. Afghanistan and Pakistan went to war the same week as the Iran bombing began, civil wars in Sudan and Myanmar continue, the unsettled dispute between Ethiopia and Eritrea threatens to flare into active hostilities, and tensions increase between China and Taiwan.  Despite declarations by President Trump that the Iran war will soon be ending, hostilities are escalating and the theatre of war expanding.  Cosmic signals suggest swift resolution is unlikely.

That said, a rare planetary configuration occurs on May 22nd when the accent is on Gemini (communications, dialogue and discourse, particularly with regard to trading.) Of course it is to be hoped that conflict will have ceased long before then. However, if not, then there is a window of hope for increased dialogue as the Sun joins Uranus and Sedna at Gemini’s door.

A strong possibility is that information that has been obscured will surface, prompting all to take a deep breath and at least pause to consider new options.

More immediately, and before the next Full Moon, Uranus makes full Gemini ingress and will be roughly 60 degrees from Neptune. Both planets were transiting these same areas of the zodiac between 1862 and 1865 when the price of a gallon of oil soared from $0.45 to $6.37. It seems that history is repeating. There is a glimmer of hope as Saturn parts company with Neptune when they moved from contra-parallel aspect (1) on April 1st. However, that is only part of the story and other indicators suggest any decline will only be a lull.

Longer-term, planetary formations suggest hard times by June 2028 – a possibility that I have raised many times. Preparing for hard times ahead is not an attractive proposal – but surely wise.

That must mean reviewing investment strategies. I put investing in health, friends and family at the top of my list. That’s followed by consideration of investment in those businesses providing essential services – particularly the distribution of food and energy supplies and then communication services.

Streamlining those essential services is where robot technology could come in. Those robots will require design and maintenance. Similarly, the maintenance of equipment needed for energy supply should find companies working in these areas enjoying growth.

My good friend and colleague, Grace Morris, recommends investing in sectors associated with the Sign in which Jupiter is travelling. Jupiter will move into Virgo (think essential engineering) in 2027. Buying into these companies now – especially if indices soon decline – could lead to profit in two years.

EQUITIES AND SILVER

Of course, the big question must be ‘are markets about to collapse’ given the present global turmoil? Already the S&P index is down over 10% since the February eclipse. Is there further to fall? And when?

This April, an extraordinary array of planetary activity in Aries provides a clue. A similar stellium in 2011 saw the price of silver rise and fall within the space of two months. At that time Uranus (think deviant) played a key role.

In 2026, Saturn replaces Uranus in the Aries line-up – so perhaps we will see a short term low. Once Uranus moves into Gemini, new vibrations should boost silver’s price.

Financial tides tend to be higher and more threatening when a planet moves from one Sign to another. Uranus’ Gemini ingress on April 26th followed by the Scorpio Full Moon at the start of May could see market turmoil.

CRYPTOS AT THE CROSSROADS:  STAR MAPS FOR DIGITAL GOLD

 Jupiter’s heliocentric (2) conversations with Uranus in Taurus are especially worthy of attention. Jupiter, planet of expansion (for better and worse), and Uranus, harbinger of disruption, combine their energies in ways that can trigger breathtaking rallies but also rapid reversals. Cosmic ripples mid-April point to heightened volatility, with unexpected headlines and sudden regulatory announcements possible.

It is more than a little interesting that the GENIUS Act (3) was signed last summer as Uranus made its brief foray into Gemini. Might we now see action that boosts crypto prices?

Fact is that Pluto’s long journey through Aquarius underlines an epochal theme: a new monetary ethos is struggling to be born: a birthing process unlikely to be completed until Saturn and Uranus align in 2032. 

Notes:  (1) Parallels and contra-parallels refer to declination, i.e., how far north or south of the ecliptic (the sun’s apparent path through the heavens, as viewed from Earth) a planet is at any given time.  The resonance between planets in declination acts similarly to conjunctions and oppositions.

(2) The term heliocentric refers to astrological techniques based on the sun as the reference point for reference of the solar system, as opposed to geocentric, which is Earth-centered.

(3) The GENIUS Act (Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins), passed 18 July 2025, is legislation designed to regulate the stablecoin industry. It establishes a federal regulatory framework for dollar-backed payment stablecoins, requiring 1:1 reserves in high-quality, liquid assets to protect consumers and boost industry legitimacy.
