Leaves From a Financial Astrologer’s Notebook: Flying Kites

June 2, 2026

By Christeen Skinner

A Kite is a specific type of planetary pattern, with three or more bodies roughly equidistant from each other around the zodiac, at 120-degree intervals, forming a Grand Trine.  The Kite is created when a fourth spot is occupied, in opposition to one of the other three.  Currently, we have the base set-up in effect for months, in what’s termed a “Minor Trine,” with Neptune in Aries resting on the midpoint of a trine between Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini, sextile to each.   For the Kite to form, another planet, the Sun or Moon must be at 180 degrees to Neptune’s position half-way between Uranus and Pluto.

This midpoint is presently in the early degrees of Aries (as all three planets are moving, the exact degree varies each day).  We then scan the ephemeris to determine when the Sun, Moon or another planet is transiting the opposite area of the zodiac: early Libra.  This regularly repeating pattern will affect all of us between now and the first quarter of 2028.

I like to think of us as experiencing a cosmic download of ideas. Yes, some of these ‘Kites’ will crash-land – but not all, and a few ideas should soar.

The Moon has just completed this pattern on 25th May, and will repeat this on 21st June, 19th July, 15th August, 11th September, 9th October, 5th November and 2 December. The exact timing will depend on your time zone and the degree of orb you use (1 or 2 degrees would be normal).

The Sun reaches this area of the zodiac just after the September Equinox. Allowing for a small orb, we would consider the Kite to be at work between September 23rd and 30th. It will be interesting to see the ideas that world leaders float through this period.

Venus is within orb of the exact midpoint between 7 and 15th August. Note that on 15 August it is joined by the Moon, suggesting that this will be a super strong Kite (perhaps with romantic or harmonious possibilities).

Mercury takes this position between 11 and 15 September.  This could be a special time as this coincides with Mercury turning retrograde. This Kite formation could coincide with particularly maverick ideas – perhaps not ones to invest in!

COMPANY NEWS AND $TRILLION KITES

Micron and SK Hynix have both joined the trillion-dollar club. June 1st marks the anniversary of Micron’s 1984 IPO, launched on the only day that year when the Sun opposed Uranus (from Gemini to Sagittarius). It has now reached trillion-dollar status as the Sun and Uranus conjoin in Gemini for the first time since that debut, and within a fortnight of the May 31st Full Moon, itself within two degrees of Micron’s Sun and Uranus.

As a chipmaker, Micron depends on rare earth metals, and its executives may already sense the risks gathering on the horizon. Securing access to those materials is likely to become ever more difficult as the new world order consolidates. When Chiron slowly crosses Micron’s Ceres position in 2027, those pressures may deepen and weigh on the share price. Micron’s ‘Kite’ may be flying high for now, but investors should be ready for some serious dips before it rises again.

EQUITIES

Are we heading for new all-time highs, and what might yet burst these bubbles? At least two highly significant planetary events lie ahead. The most obvious is the Summer Solstice on June 21st. Before that, on June 18th, Chiron—the centaur body orbiting between Saturn and Uranus—moves from geocentric Aries into Taurus. This matters. History suggests that its passage through Taurus has coincided with food shortages, brought about as much by bad weather as by human behavior, including war. At the very least, we should expect prices to rise.

The impact on share prices worldwide could be considerable. Losses seem likely, even if another rally arrives before a short-term correction.  If history repeats—or even rhymes—we should expect marked falls in late July and August.

UAE

The United Arab Emirates—an area which includes Abu Dhabi and Dubai—was formed at a Full Moon at 9 Gemini/Sagittarius, an axis highlighted by the current Full Moon. The UAE chart is now under other planetary pressure too: Uranus crossing Saturn, while Neptune stands at right angles to both Venus and Pluto.

Uranus is likely to upset the status quo, while Neptune has a well-earned reputation for coinciding with periods of distortion and confusion.

That these transits arrive just a few short months after February’s Solar Eclipse—which was exact on the UAE Ascendant—suggests the region is entering a new and more confusing phase. Taking the lunar nodal cycle into account, we should not be surprised if, as a side effect, Dubai property prices begin to fall.

LEBANON

Lebanon gained legal status on January 1st 1944, when Mars and Uranus conjoined—with asteroid Vesta—at 5 Gemini, again within orb of the May 31st Blue Moon (second lunation in a calendar month). The people of southern Lebanon have been advised to leave their homes as Israeli forces prepare for combat with Hezbollah. February’s eclipse opposed Jupiter in this chart, heralding the challenges now being faced. It seems unlikely that these will be resolved quickly; more likely that, after years of chaos, a new entity will eventually be declared.

OIL

For the last quarter century, Brent Crude Oil prices have been highest whenever Mars, viewed heliocentrically, moves through Aquarius—with Taurus the runner-up. Mars in heliocentric Taurus begins this transit at the Summer Solstice in June. As this arrives just a few days after Chiron, the planetoid orbiting between Saturn and Uranus, moves into Taurus, shortages and higher prices seem more likely than not.

WAR

Before the June Full Moon, Uranus in Gemini takes up position at right angles to the nodal axis. This is the first time this has occurred since August 1942, during the Battles of Stalingrad and Guadalcanal. Before that, it was 1775, at the start of the American Revolutionary War, and before that 1690, at the time of the Battle of the Boyne. At the time of writing, it has been announced that the Strait of Hormuz could be opened, reducing the risk of further war.

Yet this is not the only part of the world living with conflict and, in the world as it now stands, a devastating battle could still occur.
