The New Moon’s Energetic News: Aries
by Lynne Hyde
We have not had all five outer planets change Signs within one year of each other for over three centuries. That time is explosively upon us again, unfolding right now in this wild year of 2025. Pluto entered Aquarius last November, four months ago. Neptune will enter Aries Sunday, March 30th. Uranus will enter Gemini in July and Saturn will enter Aries in May along with Jupiter changing Signs and entering Cancer this June. This is rare and remarkable, to have half of the zodiac moving into new fields of experience all at the same time, especially considering Pluto takes 248 years to revolve around the sun. Neptune takes 164 years, Uranus 84 years, Saturn 30 years and it takes Jupiter 12 long years to make one trip around our sun, through the entire zodiac. Imagine all of this energy, grouped together in one long chorus line, moving, shifting and changing within eight short months of each other.
This creates endings as the planet leaves the familiar theme it’s been carrying out for years and inches into a new realm that it hasn’t been in for decades. This can create confusion and chaos from leaving what is familiar, and the uncertainty of taking on the new beginnings that a planet changing Signs requires. There are five themes that are being deconstructed and five new stories that are beginning now. The crew is taking away the old worn set and new costumes and fresh furniture is being brought on to planet Earth’s stage. The transitioning energy means no one is at any defined place, but we all are in a process of moving – we just don’t know where, yet. Astrology brilliantly shows the “As Above” that manifests “Here Below.” No wonder life here on planet Earth is so shockingly unsettled right now. We sit, we watch and we witness, startled, because we see we are entering a world that we’ve never experienced before …
We are presently in Eclipse Season; this happens twice every year. We had a total Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on March 14th and we are now in a partial Solar Eclipse at this Aries New Moon on March 29th. Eclipses happen two weeks apart at the New and Full Moons. Eclipses, when the Earth and the Moon get in alignment and block the sun’s light, indicate times when we are out of control. It’s no longer about what we intend or personally direct, but a time when destiny takes over. It’s a time when we must all let go, let God, and let the life that’s been given to us, unfold. We must trust so we won’t fall from the shaky unknowns that surround us.
Every year at this time the astrological cycle begins anew. We start over and clean Fire energy carries us quickly forward. Aries is impulsive and is good for starting things, but not as good at completions. This is the time for initiations and consciously setting the larger intentions you want to carry out in the year ahead. It’s all about beginning something new now and taking the first step; the details will follow later. Aries energy is leading, independent and energetic. The music in the gym is louder now, crisper, more invigorating and inspiring. Exercise seems less of a burden as Aries, being a “Cardinal“ Sign, wants and needs action.
Cardinal signs are the signs of the zodiac that start off each new season. When you get stuck this month, get up, take a strong, determined walk around the block, run like the fierce, beating wind and move forward with everything you’ve got.
Moving forward is what Aries needs, but this spring it may be more difficult. Venus and Mercury are both retrograde (appear to be moving backwards in relation to the Earth) and with these two personal planets that are involved with our communication, values and relationships moving in opposite motion from life’s natural flow, it won’t be easy. Mercury will turn direct and start moving forward again on April 7th, and we will begin to find solid ground to stand on. It may not seem like ground, but more like we will see and sense the whirling flame and its direction that we can follow, and that will help light the way and move us forward. Venus will resume proper motion a week following, on April 13th, and by the end of April, the seed of this Aries cycle should begin to sprout.
What’s important as the blazing fires of Aries and springtime burst high and mighty is to make your “New Year’s Resolutions.” Now is the most powerful time to cast your intentions, with the Sun, the Moon and the Earth lining up and being eclipsed in Aries, at the astrological circle’s potent and catalyzing starting point.
