THE NEW MOON’S ENERGETIC NEWS: SCORPIO
By Lynne Hyde
We have moved through the tricky ‘eye of the needle’ in fall’s Libra Eclipse season that has passed and trembled with uncertainty. Now the terracotta leaves glow magnificently and steadily in the northern hemisphere, where I sit in awe witnessing the unending beauty of life transitioning. Winter is coming and the leaves are fearlessly falling, letting go of their short existence and peacefully surrendering to their inevitable death as this Scorpio cycle begins. We can feel the deep power as we sense the tide of life coming in and moving out again. There is a knowing presence that can be felt all around us, as Scorpio is the emotional water sign of birth, death and transformation.
Every year as November unfolds, we as humans on earth are faced with travelling through the under-bellies of our lives. We need to consider, face and metabolize all that we push under and repress from others and most importantly from ourselves. Scorpio is a secret land, a place where we need to recycle and process our hidden fears and our resistance to feeling them, honestly. Scorpio is a time where we face our mortality and our immortality. It’s a time to consider the legacy we want to leave behind.
While the late afternoon sun sets in the haunting chill that begins to blanket the lands, you may be sensing the ancestors that came before you. If you listen you may hear the subtle murmurs of their soul’s whisperings. This is Scorpio’s tender territory and we know that we will eventually have to leave too and it’s time to prioritize what’s still important and left in our life to do.
The chart of the New Moon is both kind and challenging. The planets Mercury (communication) Mars (aggression) and Neptune (sensitivity) are all 120 degrees a part. Astrologers call this a ‘Grand Water Trine’. The planets are all at the last degrees of the water signs Scorpio, Cancer and Pisces. This is an aspect that is beneficial and fortunate. Because the planets are at the final degrees we may experience a karmic end of some sort that we feel deeply about. Also, we may be able to put words into all that we are sensing with passion and compassion. Words and tears should flow freely this month. Our insights may lead to potent emotional breakthroughs if we are not afraid to feel the loss of endings, as life turns direction.
There is also a sharp dagger to be aware of under the deep current. Pluto, a planet that takes 248 years to move around our Sun, is taking it is last final breath in Capricorn where it has been since 2008. It will enter Aquarius November 19th and stay in this sign for 20 years until 2044. This is a MAJOR paradigm shift for all. We leave cautious, conservative strictness and enter revolutionary, experimental radicalness. Aquarius is a sign that demands equality and freedom. As America votes next week Pluto will be one degree away from opposition with aggressive Mars. This planetary alignment is furious, fierce and forceful. Astrologers across the globe are concerned about America’s election with this planetary picture dynamically playing across the earth’s stage.
Mercury (thinking, communication) and the planet Uranus (change, disruption) are also in tight opposition as this cycle is born. This could be a time where our nervous systems may be stretched by the surprising, erratic news around us.
Breathe deep and slow and take plenty of B vitamins this month as impulsiveness is roaring under the surface as we may feel we have lost control. Trust this as it is ‘Scorpio Time’ and Scorpio privately knows there never really is any control.
