The New Moon’s Energetic News:  Scorpio – 9 November 2026

November 8, 2026

By Lynne Hyde

Frustrations, setbacks and confusing occurrences that oddly irritate have been unfolding through events that surround us. During this time five planets sit retrograde, refusing to budge above us. Mercury and Venus, the important personal planets that intimately effect our lives, are holding hands and walking backwards together.  Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, the universal outer planets that effect the world around us, are journeying behind the Earth as well and we don’t know where to step; we can’t quite find the right words to speak, we’re not sure who we can trust and we’re concerned about what could unexpectedly happen next. There’s a wobbly flex of uncertainty in the air right now and relationships are out of skew, with half the planets traveling in reverse.  It’s Scorpio time; we may feel way too deeply now and we are hanging, suspended, with an arrow in our hearts.

We have left the seamless elegance of Libra’s fair relationship cycle. How did it go, did you reckon with how you give too much?  We now leave beauty and Venusian ease (Venus is in charge of Libra) and face being moved into the dark underbelly of Martian Scorpio (Mars rules Scorpio). It’s a place where strong, possessive emotions take over; they are hidden, yet working intently behind the scenes, and we all instinctively want and need to take control. It shows up automatically with our husbands, our wives, our friends, and with your lawn man when you uncomfortably settle the bill; it’s everywhere now and it’s not light.

The energetic focus this November, while we are turning around the darkening seasonal corner is: what do I own, what am I worth, what do I value and how do I move forward and limit my losses?  Under all of this fear is how do we face death, face our own mortality, which we can’t control?  Scorpio’s bottom line is that it knows unconsciously it has no power, so it becomes controlling to compensate. Death will surface this cycle. We will wrestle with it and with those around us that are leaving the planet. It’s the time in the yearly cycle to consider and process that we won’t last forever. It’s a good time to finally face and write your will.

Yet the two benefic planets, Venus and Jupiter, are sixty degrees apart (good aspect) and a bit of fortune surprisingly jumps out to greet us. We think things are grim and then suddenly we experience a small act of kindness and a spot of ease and we find a moment of joy leaping up, out of nowhere. It can be as small as when the restaurant has just one extra parking space left, or as large as when you woke up to the morning’s news that in America, a miraculous turnaround of a dictatorship took place. In a flash – relief blasted like a strong, loud bell ringing with promise, through the airways, all over the country and maybe even the world.  Hope bloomed opulently and wide, reflecting Jupiter’s themes of morality and law. Mars is just three degrees away from Jupiter in this New Moon chart and they have been standing boldly together in Leo, a Sign of leadership, signaling a kingly, fiery breakthrough. This will be ongoing until they exactly join, along with the nodal axis, on November sixteenth at twenty-five degrees of Leo. Bounty fullness abounds until then. With the South Node (symbol of karmic destiny) merged with the two planets, we can see that a force big and destined is involved in what takes place during this Scorpio cycle. Humanity may remember what justice and regality feels like this month. Life suddenly has possibility again, if only like water readily absorbed in our dry, thirsty, needy psyches. This may not only be the great beneficial planets and the nodes in alignment, but also Mercury, the trickster in action, always creating a shift in direction…

The course of the United States Congress has shifted but with the ongoing retrograde energy we may not be out of the woods, and some confusing blurriness may be ahead until Venus and Mercury both turn direct on November thirteenth. It takes some time for planets to gain speed. Be patient until after the Full Moon on the twenty-fourth when following; we can gain some traction in this cycle to get enough grip, without the tricky slipperiness seeping around us and move forward again.

We have to remember that we still are in the major energy that hasn’t taken place in over six thousand years with Neptune on the midpoint between Uranus and Pluto; aligned with zero degrees of Aries, the most powerful beginning point in the zodiac. This all began nine months ago in February and we’re still trying to find our way. Pluto having recently entered Aquarius for the first time in over two hundred and forty years brought the A.I. revolution with it. Uranus having recently entered Gemini has brought free-floating chaos with it. Neptune standing between the two has created loss and confusion. These three planets won’t separate out of this configuration until the summer of 2028. Then we will be able to understand the change that they brought and intended. Whatever it is, is monumental, and humanity is moving with blindfolds on until then.

This Scorpio New Moon enables us to sense and discern and possibly move with this almighty and mysterious configuration that was birthed last winter. Scorpio has an instinctive radar and an ability to feel the deep emotional currents that are running through this rather complicated November. It’s not a time to think our way out of situations, but a time of embracing our intuition and following it with faith and trust even though we can’t clearly see yet. The powerful Mars and Jupiter that join together in majestic Leo bringing integrity back to the heart of this cycle, are heralding us forward. If you can peek your head out from Scorpio’s intensity, to play and laugh a bit in “Leo land”, you will be taking advantage of the inherent planetary forces, that are pushing the directive winds, and buoyantly raising our heavy sails UP this month!
