The New Moon’s Energetic News:  Pisces

The chaos of this Aquarian cycle that we have just experienced, may not end, because Pluto, the slowest moving of the ten planets in our zodiac, entered the sign of Aquarius on November 20^th, 2024 and will stay there for the next twenty long years. The last time it was in Aquarius was 248 years ago, the time when the United States’s Declaration of Independence from the British Empire was born.

Aquarius is known for chaos, disruption and rebellion. Astrologers around the globe are watching what has manifested since Pluto’s potency lit the unexpected, explosive fuse of Aquarius’ archetypal energy that just blasted across our planet this past month. We watched as the New Moon Aquarian cycle unfolded for the first time in many generations with Pluto positioned in this Sign, and though anticipated, I don’t believe anyone would have imagined it would be this blatantly crazy, confusing and destructive. In disbelief the silent, scary thought is, “Welcome to the World’s new age of Anarchy…”

Now comes the Pisces New Moon (February27), which is a mutable, water Sign and is the last Sign in the twelve-fold cycle. We are in a “major ending period” down here on Earth with the Sun, Moon, Saturn, Mercury and Neptune all joined together in Pisces, above. The transiting North Node of the Moon (an important spot in the sky that’s formed where the Sun’s and Moon’s paths intersect each other) also amazingly and instructively has just entered Pisces. This crossing point is in Pisces only every eighteen and a half years and it signifies the karmic energy that we are all going through as it’s the astrological indicator of one’s destiny in life.

The Sign of Pisces is emotional, imaginative, vulnerable and compassionate; frequently, because of its sensitivity, it can feel lost and overwhelmed by how much it feels. There is no ground underneath us now. There is only moving, changing, diffusive water energy with no direction but psychic absorption with all these planetary bodies hovering in the deep, emotional seas of Pisces. We are left with nothing else but to feel without fear so we can process our soul’s experience and finally, simply let go. We need to surrender and become small, almost invisible, to allow our old stories, our old selves to be carried freely away by the tides of inevitable change coming in and going out during this Pisces cycle of completion. Maybe if we consciously intend it, this may even be a cycle of possible resolution…

Mars has been retrograde since December 6^th and we have had to pause, think twice and not move gallantly ahead to take on the new. It’s been frustrating taking three steps forward and then two steps back, and we’ve had to face and wrestle with the anger that’s been languishing at our sides. Mars is presently turning direction again (as of February 24^th) and will be ahead of the Earth, allowing us to feel the relief of being in alignment again, but just for a moment.  We have just one breath to inhale as this new cycle blooms and then on March 2^nd Venus turns backwards and our lives may have to pause again.

A strong, quieting hush and a demand to pull inwards happens when planets retrograde over the areas in life which the planet oversees. Venus is associated with love, finances and values. We are asked to stop, to question and to consider these parts of our lives, and if possible, not take action until the planet moves forward again and we can move more easily with the flow downstream.  It’s the river of life’s way of regulating itself. It’s the “cosmic season of reflective slowdown.”  Venus will be retrograde from March 2^nd until April 13^th and Mercury will join the retrograde motion from March 15^th through April 7^th. This is the trickiness of this cycle as three planetary bodies are shifting in direction and so are our lives… 

 So, welcome in this Pisces cycle of completion, and review your last year that commenced on March 20^th 2024, when the astrological new year began with the Sun’s entrance into Aries. There are no boundaries now, listen to the whispering of life’s messages in your space and allow yourself to feel the beauty and create. We are at the end now, give yourself credit, kindness and time to rest. Dare to feel your vulnerability and your ultimate smallness in this grand universe of ours. Share your intimate knowing with those that matter to you, as the river of life keeps flowing and we need and want to go with it…
