THE NEW MOON’S ENERGETIC NEWS: “VIRGO” September 2nd
By Lynne Hyde
Life can begin to move forward again. We have been stuck, burning in the fixed, passionate fire sign that has been difficultly squared (90 degrees away) by the other planetary bodies in the sky all month. We are either in awe of the brightness of the Leo energy and/ or possibly in anguish at the loss of control as Mercury, the planet of thought and communication has been moving backwards in relation to our earth. Now the Sun and Moon join together in the soft, mutable, earth sign of Virgo and Mercury, the planet that is in charge of Virgo, has just begun to move direct. Life can feel more manageable and productive as we start this new cycle. Our projects have possibility again and we can see the next step that must be taken. We can feel hopeful, as the stalled train has finally left the station after August’s tightened pause. We may not be certain of where we are going yet but we can feel the slight assurance that movement brings….
Virgo is a sign that’s focused on practicality. Virgo’s strength is in its ability to see and untangle the details that surround our situations. It wants and can be useful. Summer comes to an end and Virgo announces that it’s time to get organized and prepared for the coming of fall, the shortening of day and the lessoning of light…
Virgo, being an earth sign, wants stability and security. It wants to know its standing, and fix and repair the physical world, making it better. The essence and intention of Virgo is to contribute and serve. It’s also been said that Virgo’s energy represents “Digestion.” September is a time where we must access, process and metabolize our experience honestly, scrutinizing how our lives are unfolding in order to discern what exactly needs to be done next. The door that opens at this New Moon encourages us to reach for and receive our specific direction for improvement in our lives…
Jupiter, the planet of expansion has just stood up to face Saturn, the planet of contraction. Our lives can feel like a pattern of two steps forward and one step back as we vacillate between our wanting to grow and our need to be careful. The planets are in Gemini and Pisces, which are wavering and fluctuating signs; trust may be hard to distill and to find. The American political debate stage may be wobbling in this energy as the Sun in Virgo opposes Saturn and the Moon in Sagittarius opposes Jupiter creating a Grand Square of uncertainty and instability the night of September 10th. .
We are coming into “ Eclipse Season” which happens twice every year. The season lasts for a month between New and Full Moons and creates a magnitude of unanticipated change that cannot be determined in advance. All we know is the volume on life’s radio gets turned up high and events are amplified. This Full Moon Partial Eclipse will take place September 17th in the sign of Virgo and Pisces. Even though the Moon will not be fully darkened by earth our emotions are sure to be running deeply, wildly and wide.
So even though we have the stability of Virgo’s earthy capability and Mercury has taken it’s messy hands off of our “ To Do” list the times are still radically uncertain as Saturn and Jupiter have started their “Stop/Go” dance together that lasts through spring and the eventful Eclipses will begin to cross in the heavens, leaving their mark on us, as they cover our lands.
Breathe deep and dot your I’s and carefully cross your T’s and clean up any clutter that surrounds you for It’s Virgo time now, a time to get organized and a time to get gratefully back to work…
