The New Moon’s Energetic News: Gemini

The slowness is no longer softly lingering at our sides, and we don’t stop to pause and notice the velvetiness of the flowers blooming at our door anymore.  Now we dart quickly forward, out into the overly bright morning air, while looking halfway back, with tangles in our thoughts, while our cell phones are ceaselessly ringing. We are trying to remember if we’ve forgotten anything that’s needed for the busy day ahead. It’s Gemini time and our minds are full, distracted and we may feel unusually divided.  

Gemini is a mutable Air Sign and when the Sun and Moon align here this cycle, the focus is on our mentality; our ability to rationally think, creatively consider and intelligently communicate. Being an Air Sign means the energy circulating throughout the month is like the quality of the Air element. It’s quick, it’s light and it changes, moving constantly in different and various directions. The Gemini archetype is that of the twins and the Sign represents duality. During this time of year, we may find ourselves doing two things at once or considering two options and changing our minds and our decisions often. We notice the shallow sands we are standing on are shifting. Feeling grounded and stable may be out of reach and we need to learn how to adjust to becoming adaptable.  Gemini likes possibilities and does not want to get stuck. The secret to living in this airy dual time is to stay light, not too serious, and keep moving like the free-floating wind, allowing yourself to be indecisive and even inconsistent if needed, without judgment. Our spirit needs to give our mental body the room and the space and the permission to fluctuate and be nimble to successfully ride the Gemini air streams that are blowing above us, below us and through us, if we want to gain the momentum to soar in our lives… 

The New Moon takes place May 26^th with the ruling planet Mercury close at its side. Mercury has dignity in the Sign of Gemini as it’s in charge and considered to be the “landlord” of the house when positioned there. It holds power, has dominion and feels comfortable because it’s traveling through the very property it owns!  So, we can trust our thoughts if we can keep them collected in their pens and not let our overly active, vigorous minds completely take over and run wild like animals. We’ll need an intention to meditate, to gather all the loose messages that are scattered and roaming in our heads in order to find balance and peace. This is a good time for social gatherings and connecting with others as everyone will need a chance to share and to talk, to open the gates and empty and clean out their mental cages of thoughts…

When done, some possible, brilliant ideas can be found, as this is a good New Moon with lots of fine, positive aspects. Sun, Moon, Mercury and Uranus are all trine Pluto, which recently arrived in Aquarius, giving us strength, focus and power to gain traction from new ideas and move them forward with skillful communication. Mars, Venus and Chiron are in Fire Signs, in beneficial aspect to each other, giving relationships healing and a chance to thrive in harmony when some kind of action is taken. Go out, hear music and most importantly, dance. 

The big news, when you read this, that all astrologers are in suspense about, is that Saturn has just entered Aries. It’s been swimming through the emotional depths of Pisces since the spring of 2023 and it’s going to light a blaze in Aries for the summer months before it retrogrades back into the seas, then returns to Aries in February 2026. Saturn is important because it ties us to the earth plane and demands we learn specific lessons and pay our dues according to the Sign it is in. It’s the Karmic grandfather and grandmaster of planet earth. Neptune also just left the Piscean sensitive waters and marched into the impulsive and potent fire of Aries. These two planets just leaving the passive, feeling Water Sign and entering together, within weeks of each other, into the active inferno of Aries is scary. The transition from water to fire is self-explanatory:  floods to fire; empathy to bullying. 

They will remain close together for months and the heat is now rising all around us. There is a quivering anticipation of what’s to come percolating like coffee about to boil. There is fear of anger, war and dictatorship. There is also the possibility of creative, powerful new starts that can move life forward, finally, in a long-needed new direction, for everyone. There is hope for a brand-new justful beginning for planet Earth as Aries is the first Sign of the zodiac and symbolizes birth, beginnings and starts… 

Let the ease of Gemini’s June breezes blow through your hair and stay light as a feather while the cosmos unfolds.  Try not to explode, as we must trust “As Above, So Below” and remember the perfect astrological circle that protectively surround us, shows and knows…
