Four Oscars and an Awards Ceremony
By Alex Miller
The 98th annual Academy Awards ceremony commences at 4 PM PDT on 15 March 2026 in Los Angeles, California, honoring films released in 2025. Fully twenty performers are nominated in four acting categories, and speculation about who will win is always at fever pitch as the day approaches. Astrology can give us clues to the cosmic frontrunners, both by assessing the placement of minor bodies which reflect the nominees on the day, and the potential latent in their birth charts.
But first let’s look at the Awards chart itself. The Sun in Pisces (25 Pisces) is more than appropriate for the circumstance, with Pisces’ ruling planet of Neptune also ruling film and make-believe, and Neptune (1 Aries) conjoined the Sun. A sextile (60 degrees) from the Sun to Uranus (28 Taurus) signals some level of “Surprise!” as the night rolls on, with some shocks and upsets, unexpected wins, and perhaps controversial losses (all Uranus keywords). This is the only aspect the Sun makes, giving Uranus additional running room to work its patented brand of oopsie-daisy, upsetting the apple cart. Uranus also evokes high energy and electricity, so expect an atmosphere crackling with anticipation and suspense.
A close conjunction of Mercury and Mars (9 & 10 Pisces) suggests an engaged, enthusiastic (Mars) electorate (Mercury), with Mercury ruling voting, as Academy members cast their ballots. This could also manifest as a degree of disgruntlement or discontent (Mars) at the outcome of the voting, with perhaps a bit of sore-loser-ism thrown into the mix
The Ascendant (6 Leo) governs the public image of the event; in Leo, this suggests entertainers, possibly some with rather large egos. Leo also rules royalty – in this case, that’s Hollywood Royalty, most of whom will be in attendance, and widely visible (Ascendant) to the global audience. The Midheaven, or MC (27 Aries) is the point of highest elevation in a chart, the focus of all eyes, ruling such matters as career, reputation, status and place in the world. Aries is the Sign of the leader, and those who garner a gold statuette this evening can legitimately be considered leaders in their field, with the enhanced reputation that goes with it.

It’s also at the MC where we find asteroid Oskar (19 Aries), alternate spelling of Oscar, ruling the roost as the undeniable focus of attention, the reason Hollywood has foregathered. Oskar’s conjunction with Venus (11 Aries) pinpoints popularity as key to success on this night of nights.
Academy Award victory is also symbolized in a striking T-Square (1) of asteroid Nike (28 Scorpio) opposed (180 degrees) asteroid Victoria (25 Taurus), with asteroid Academia (22 Leo) on the fulcrum, in square (90 degrees) to each. Nike is named for the Greek goddess of victory, Victoria for her Roman counterpart, and Academia is our celestial stand-in for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, which sponsors the Awards. Uranus joining this pattern reinforces the unpredictable nature of the event, and could evoke some controversial acceptance speeches, a perennial Oscar staple.
That’s the backdrop; what follows are my personal picks, based solely on astrological factors, and not my assessment of the nominated performances. But to be clear, each of the nominees has some degree of connection and potential, or they wouldn’t have been nominated in the first place!
Best Actor: Michael B. Jordan, “Sinners”
There are no exact asteroid matches for either of Jordan’s names, but several which approximate them effectively. Asteroid Jordaens (26 Sagittarius) closely squares the Sun, putting Jordan in the spotlight. As well, asteroid Michel (4 Leo), the masculine French version of Michael, appears at station (2), conjoined the Awards’ Ascendant, and it turns direct that very day! Michel’s stationary status indicates a major turning point for persons resonating to the name, and the conjunction with the Ascendant potentially marks Jordan as a prominent public face of the event. Asteroid Michela (24 Aries), another variation of Michael, appears conjoined both the MC and asteroid Oskar, a further cosmic endorsement of his candidacy.

Natally, Michael B. Jordan (3) has an impressive celestial resume as a potential Oscar winner, with asteroid Oskar exactly conjunct the Sun (both 20 Aquarius), squared asteroid Actor (16 Taurus). Asteroids reflecting the role, if in connection to the Sun, can afford a genuine, authentic portrayal, which leads to acclaim and awards. In “Sinners,” Jordan plays a dual role, twins Elijah and Elias Moore. Asteroid Elias (14 Aquarius) conjoins Sun/Oscar, while asteroid Elijahmena (20 Taurus), a Compound-Name Asteroid beginning with “Elijah,” squares. Put it all together, and it looks like Jordan’s year.
Best Actress: Kate Hudson, “Song Sung Blue”
Like Michael B. Jordan, Kate Hudson also sports an eponymous asteroid at station, conjoined the Ascendant. Asteroid Kate (3 Leo) turns direct the day after the ceremony, still more than ample timing to affect the outcome. Additionally, asteroid Hudson (6 Libra) conjoins asteroid Actor (9 Libra), opposed Saturn (3 Aries) and Neptune (1 Aries), signaling potential peer recognition (Saturn) in the film industry (Neptune) for Hudson’s (Hudson) acting output (Actor).

Natally, Kate Hudson (4) has asteroid Oskar (25 Aquarius) in sextile (60 degrees) to a triple conjunction of the Sun (28 Aries) with asteroids Victoria (24 Aries) and Academia (27 Aries), which is about as succinct a celestial encapsulation of Academy Award (Academia) Oscar (Oskar) winner (Victoria) as can be imagined! Additionally, this solar grouping forms a T-Square with Jupiter (29 Cancer), proving luck, fame and positive outcomes, and asteroid Hudson (28 Capricorn), another personal tie-in. The icing on this cosmic confection is the Awards MC and asteroid Oskar aligned with the natal solar group, and natal Oskar fitting snugly into the night’s “winning” T-Square described above.
Nominated for her portrayal of Claire Sardina in “Song Sung Blue,” Hudson’s natal asteroid Clara (26 Sagittarius), cognate to Claire (both descended from the Latin root “Clarus”), is embedded at station, trine the natal Sun and squared the Awards Sun. Claire is also sextile natal Oskar, which is conjoined by natal asteroid Sardinas 1 Pisces), closest to Sardina. So again, as with Jordan, we see the potential for an authentic performance which garners notice and reward.
Best Supporting Actor: Jacob Elordi, “Frankenstein”
As with Michael B. Jordan, exact asteroid matches for Jacob Elordi’s names elude us, but what we have looks good for his chances of success. Asteroid Elodi (21 Aquarius) not only reverberates to the “winning” T-Square of Nike, Victoria and Academia, it’s also conjoined by the Awards Moon (16 Aquarius), suggesting Elordi as the people’s choice. Meanwhile, asteroids Jacobi (14 Aries) and Jacoby (26 Capricorn), both “Jacob” markers, are respectively conjunct and squared the Awards asteroid Oskar, providing two personal links to the prize up for grabs.

Natally, Jacob Elordi (5) has good Oscar potential, if not this year, then at some point in the future. Natal asteroid Oskar (0 Scorpio) trines (120 degrees) the Sun (5 Cancer)/Mercury (6 Cancer) conjunction, while asteroid Victoria (9 Gemini) squares asteroid Academia (7 Virgo), in a T-Square with Pluto (3 Sagittarius), suggesting a transformative (Pluto) experience and increased personal power (also Pluto) stemming from an Academy Award (Academia) win (Victoria). And this does seem like Elordi’s year, with his natal conjunction of Saturn (19 Aries) and asteroid TRIUMF (24 Aries) aligned with the Awards Oskar (19 Aries) and MC (27 Aries). Saturn rules career and peer recognition, while TRIUMF is a phonetic match for “triumph,” another marker of victory. The Awards Sun also opposes his asteroid Jacobi (26 Virgo), placing him potentially in the spotlight.
Best Supporting Actress: Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, “Sentimental Value”
With two actresses from the same film nominated for the same award, Oscar history suggests that Lilleaas, challenged for Best Supporting Actress by Elle Fanning, runs the risk of her vote being diluted by her fellow cast member, resulting in failure for each. But the cosmos begs to differ.
Asteroid Inge (25 Capricorn), alternate spelling of Inga, finds itself on Awards Night exactly sextile the Sun, and squared both the Awards MC and Oskar, affording a heaping helping of celestial endorsement. Inge is also exactly trine Victoria (victory) and sextile Nike (ditto), for that “winning” vibe.

Natally, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas (6) has perhaps the most powerful alignment of any 2026 Oscar nominee, particularly given her nominated role, as Agnes Pettersen. Her Sun (19 Aries)/Venus (20 Aries) conjunction forms a Grand Trine (7) with asteroids Oskar (29 Leo) and Agnes (22 Sagittarius), both at station. As well, asteroid Peterson (13 Libra), alternate spelling of Pettersen, opposes the Sun, affording two asteroid role referents in connection to her core being, for that much-valued ring of authenticity to the part. And the Awards Oskar aligns with her natal Sun exactly!
As if more cosmic proof of suitability for the award was required, Lilleaas’ natal Victoria (5 Aquarius)/TRIUMF (6 Aquarius) conjunction opposes natal Actor (5 Leo), in a T-Square with natal asteroid Nike (12 Taurus), for a cosmic Triple Threat of victory related to her chosen profession. Add to that, transit asteroid Peterson (25 Taurus) exactly conjunct the Awards’ Victoria, and the Awards Sun squared natal Agnes, and it’s looking like a cosmic shoo-in.
As noted above, however, with Uranus so prominent in the mix, literally anything can happen. But we don’t have long to wait for the results!
Notes: (1) A T-Square is a dynamic pattern composed of two or more planets in opposition (180 degrees), each squared (90 degrees) a third. It represents stress and conflict, with the fulcrum point (at the square) offering a possibility of resolution.
(2) Stations are periods when, from our perspective on Earth, a planet appears to slow its movement, come to a standstill, and reverse course. This is an optical illusion created by the triangulation between the sun, Earth, and any third celestial body; astrologically, it represents a focusing of the energies associated with that point, and often coincides with major life events or a radical recalibration of how that point has functioned previously.
(3) Michael B. Jordan born 2/9/87, 8:14 PM PST, Santa Ana, CA (Rodden Rating AA)
(4) Kate Hudson born 4/19/79, no time available
(5) Jacob Elordi born 6/26/97, no time available
(6) Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas born 4/9/89, no time available
(7) A Grand Trine is a pattern comprised of three or more points, all equidistant from each other by 120 degrees. It denotes special gifts or opportunities, but may need a “trigger” in the form of a transit to activate its potential.
