Trump Dumps on Transgender Athletes
by Alex Miller
On Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports, fulfilling a central promise of his 2024 campaign. The actual numbers of transgender athletes in high school and college sports across the US is minuscule, but the group makes a convenient scapegoat to rile up supporters. The Trump administration has taken a position in direct opposition to its predecessor on Title IX, the federal law that protects students from discrimination based on sex in educational programs and activities that receive federal funding. The Biden administration ruled that schools would be violating Title IX by denying transgender students the opportunity to participate in the sport of their gender, but the new executive order, titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports,” will establish sweeping mandates on sex and sports policy which directs federal agencies, including the Department of Justice, to interpret federal Title IX rules as prohibiting the participation of transgender girls and women in female sports categories.
The sky that day was focused on minor body energies that resonate to issues of the LGBTQ population, with the Sun (17 Aquarius) conjoined Mercury (14 Aquarius), indicating decisions, written statements, policy and newsworthy events, and asteroid Sappho (20 Aquarius), named for a lesbian poet in ancient Greece. This grouping is squared to asteroid Ganymed (13 Taurus), named for Zeus’ underage cupbearer and boy-toy lover, and inconjunct (150 degrees) Mars (19 Cancer), ruling athletes and competition. The inconjunct represents an adjustment or modification.
Mars is also involved in a T-Square (comprised of two points opposed each other, with a third on their midpoint, in square to each), opposing (180 degrees) asteroid Eros (25 Capricorn), named for the patron deity of same-sex relations in Hellenistic Greece, with asteroid Nemesis (29 Libra) in square (90 degrees) to both. Nemesis symbolizes an opponent or enemy, a roadblock or limit on progress.
As well, the point most identified with transgender individuals specifically was also active. Asteroid Leukippos is named for a female child who was passed off as male by her mother Galatea to avoid the wrath of the father, Lamprus. Dressed and treated as a boy in youth, when Leukippos approached puberty, her mother realized she could no longer prolong the deception, and petitioned the goddess Leto to transform her child into an actual male; her plea was granted.
When Donald Trump signed his transgender sports ban, asteroid Leukippos (0 Virgo) rested at the Apex of a Yod pattern, a fated arrangement also known as “the Finger of Destiny,” with inconjunct aspects to both Pluto (2 Aquarius) and Venus (1 Aries). Pluto here symbolizes a major transformation, in this case, of values, ruled by Venus, with Trump dramatically reversing the Biden administration policies on what constitutes being a female (also Venus-ruled).
Also of note, asteroid Antinous, named for the real-life male lover of Roman Emperor Hadrian, who sacrificed himself in the Nile to save his beloved, and was once revered in the Mediterranean basin as a god. At 7 Gemini, Antinous is stationary, about to turn direct on February 9th, a critical moment in its cycle, when its energies are heightened and emphasized, placing additional focus on LGBTQ issues for the timeframe.
The transgender ban itself is reflected in the placement of asteroid NOT (3 Capricorn), a general disqualifier or symbol of negation, which is semisquare (45 degrees) the Sun and Sappho, trine Leukippos, and inconjunct Antinous, suggesting some form of limitation or refusal for LGBTQ individuals.
