
SCOTUS Ruling: US Constitution Is Unconstitutional

On Background: On April Fool’s Day, the US Supreme Court heard oral arguments in defense of President Donald Trump’s executive order banning birthright citizenship, which denies this right to children born of parents lacking permanent legal status in the US. Trump signed the order on the first day of his second term in office, 20 January 2025, despite the plain text of the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment, which reads: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
The SCOTUS is the judicial body charged with calling balls and strikes on what is and isn’t constitutional, and therefore legal, in the US. Given the clear language of the Amendment, anything other than a 9-0 smackdown of Trump’s executive order should be unthinkable, but the Court’s conservative 6-3 supermajority, with three Justices appointed by Trump himself, gives cause for concern. Although still highly unlikely to pass muster once the Court makes its ruling, close attention is being paid to how Trump lickspittle Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Brett Kavanaugh, the most hardline conservatives on the bench, weigh in.
The Lede: The controversy is part and parcel of the ongoing conjunction between Saturn (5 Aries) and Neptune (2 Aries), here manifesting as an attempt to erode (Neptune) the US Constitution, the foundational document establishing the US government (Saturn). Neptune obfuscates, confuses, misdirects and deceives, while Saturn is known for withholding or denying, both key elements of the case. The passage of the Sun (currently 11 Aries) over this zone in the past ten days is casting a bright spotlight on issues associated with this pairing.
In Brief: Mercury (14 Pisces), planet of discussion, debate and decision, is currently trine (120 degrees) Jupiter (15 Cancer), holding sway over the judiciary generally, and the US Supreme Court in particular. This linkage well depicts the oral arguments (Mercury) in the SCOTUS (Jupiter) setting. Set to begin at 10 AM EDT, Mercury is also tightly squared (90 degrees) the Ascendant (13 Gemini), with the Horizontal Axis of Ascendant/Descendant (13 Gemini/Sagittarius) essentially a 180-degree flip of the US natal degrees (12 Sagittarius/Gemini), tying the moment directly to the nation’s founding. This can create a “bizarro world,” alternate universe effect, where things seem turned on their head, in direct conflict with reality as we know it. As well, the chart’s Midheaven (or MC, 20 Aquarius) conjoins the US natal Moon (27 Aquarius), representing its citizens, the definition of which forms the crux of the case.
Deep Dive: The Mercury/Ascendant square becomes a T-Square (1) with the addition of asteroid Themis (15 Sagittarius) conjunct the Descendant and embedded at station (2), granting it additional cosmic clout. Themis is named for the Greek goddess of justice, representative of the nine Justices on the Supreme Court, and the Descendant describes to how we relate to each other; in this instance, symbolizing the SCOTUS (Themis) decision (Mercury) over who is a peer, and who an outsider (Descendant).

Also at station, asteroid Washingtonia (4 Leo), which opposes (180 degrees) an exact conjunction of Pluto and asteroid Demokritos (5 Aquarius). Washingtonia represents Washington DC, the seat of federal government, of which Donald Trump is the head, creating an existential crisis (Pluto) regarding who may participate in our democracy (Demokritos).
The case being argued is “Trump v Barbara,” named for a Honduran woman resident in the US, using only her first name for her safety. Asteroid Barbara (19 Libra) forms a Grand Cross (3), opposed the Sun (11 Aries), and squared to asteroid Nemesis (16 Capricorn) and a pairing of Jupiter with asteroid Donn (15 & 16 Cancer). Barbara and Donn neatly encapsulate the first names of plaintiff and defendant (Donald Trump); Nemesis signals an opponent or enemy; Jupiter evokes the judicial setting; and the Sun brings focus and attention to the matter.
The fate of children born in the US to parents without legal residency is summed up nicely by asteroid Child (12 Taurus) squared asteroid America (16 Leo) and semisquare (45 degrees) asteroid NOT (28 Pisces), a general disqualifier or symbol of negation. Are these minors (Child) American citizens (America), or aren’t they (NOT)?
Donald Trump attended the SCOTUS hearing in person, in a precedent-shattering move, as the first US president ever to do so. This is seen as asteroid Justitia (28 Scorpio), named for the Roman goddess of justice, exactly opposed Uranus (28 Taurus), governing record-breaking, novelty, and controversy, with this basic polarity bisected by asteroid Whitehouse (27 Capricorn), indicating the presidency, in sextile (60 degrees) and trine.

As Themis has come to station, multiple judicial setbacks have plagued Trump, from curbs on his right to organize private funding for his vaunted White House ballroom, to allowing civil suits based in his January 6th Capitol Insurrection actions to proceed. That power struggles with the courts would prove pivotal to the second Trump administration generally is prefigured in the inauguration chart for 20 January 2025, which features the Sun (0 Aquarius) conjunct Pluto (1 Aquarius), ruling power, opposed Justitia (5 Leo). The “Trump v Barbara” case is noted specifically by asteroid Barbara’s (2 Leo) conjunction with Justitia. As well, asteroid Themis (13 Virgo) is at station, turning retrograde and sesquiquadrate (135 degrees) the Sun, another indicator of the primacy of the courts. That American democracy could be at risk is exemplified in asteroid Demokritos (28 Virgo) opposed asteroid America (23 Pisces), in a T-Square with asteroid NOT (27 Sagittarius).
Notes: (1) A T-Square is a dynamic pattern composed of two or more planets in opposition (180 degrees), each squared (90 degrees) a third. It represents stress and conflict, with the fulcrum point (at the square) offering a possibility of resolution.
(2) Stations are periods when, from our perspective on Earth, a planet appears to slow its movement, come to a standstill, and reverse course. This is an optical illusion created by the triangulation between the sun, Earth, and any third celestial body; astrologically, it represents a focusing of the energies associated with that point, and often coincides with major life events or a radical recalibration of how that point has functioned previously.
(3) A Grand Cross is a major pattern comprised of four or more points at roughly 90 degrees equidistant from each other; this dynamic interaction can create stress, but also prompts action and motivates growth.
