Trump/Zelensky Talks: Peace Afoot?

December 26, 2025

By Alex Miller

On Sunday, 28 December, 2025, US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Florida residence, to discuss finalizing potential peace terms with Russia.  Not present:  any European leaders or Russian President Vladimir Putin, key players in the outcome.  Zelensky has stated that the current US proposal has “90%” approval from his government, but could not state definitely whether any agreement would be signed. The war that has raged between Russia and Ukraine for almost four years seems ground to a halt, with neither side having a clear advantage, and both nearing exhaustion.

The Sun (7 Capricorn) is conjoined both Venus (4 Capricorn) and Mars (10 Capricorn, precisely on their midpoint, imaging the balancing act between peace (Venus) and war (Mars) which the talks represent.  As well, this grouping forms a T-Square (1), opposing (180 degrees) asteroid Moskva (4 Cancer), Russian for “Moscow,” its capital, and squares a pairing of asteroids Russia and Pax (1 and 5 Libra), named for the Latin word for “peace.”  This spotlights (Sun) Moscow and Russia (Moskva, Russia) as odd-man-out (opposition and square) in the talks, with no seat at the table; and the difficulty of imposing a peace (Pax) on an unwilling adversary (Russia).

Mercury (23 Sagittarius) conjoined asteroid Whitehouse (26 Sagittarius) in square to a duo of Saturn (25 Pisces) and Neptune (29 Pisces) emphasizes the underlying difficulty in the negotiations (Mercury) – somehow the US President (Whitehouse) has to craft a lasting, enduring (Saturn) peace with the notoriously duplicitous and deceptive (Neptune) Putin.  If the terms (Mercury) are deemed too severe (Saturn) or without substance (Neptune), failure seems certain.

A triple conjunction of asteroids Kiev (11 Leo, anglicized rendering of Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital), Ukraina (12 Leo, named for Ukraine) and Washingtonia (17 Leo, for Washington DC) seems to point to shared interests and a unified purpose for the US and Ukraine, but an opposition to asteroid NOT (17 Aquarius) a general disqualifier or symbol of negation, indicates potential roadblocks and pitfalls on the path to peace.

A conjunction of asteroids Vladimir (20 Libra) and Achilles (18 Libra) casts Vladimir Putin (Vladimir) in a weakened, vulnerable role (Achilles, as in Achilles heel), but a square to Jupiter (21 Cancer) with asteroid Donn (19 Cancer) shows Donald Trump (Donn) as Putin’s ace in the hole, a benefactor (Jupiter) who provides a positive outcome (Jupiter), from the Russian president’s (Vladimir) perspective.

In contrast, Volodymyr Zelensky seems in a position of power and control, with both his eponymous asteroids, Volodymyr and Zelinsky (1 & 0 Scorpio) closely conjunct, and squaring Pluto (2 Aquarius).  It’s rare for an individual’s referential celestials to be so precisely aligned, which grants undivided focus and streamlined action toward a goal, while the connection to Pluto suggests being in charge of events, both an unmovable object and an unstoppable force.

Asteroid America (3 Virgo) at station (2), indicating a major change of direction for the US, opposes Damocles (0 Pisces), a symbol of the looming threat or peril about to descend at any time, without warning, vividly illustrates the stakes in this meeting.  With Uranus (28 Taurus), arbiter of the controversial, shocking, unexpected and unpredictable, forming a T-Square to this polarity, literally anything is possible.

Notes:  (1) A T-Square is a dynamic pattern composed of two or more planets in opposition (180 degrees), each squared (90 degrees) a third.  It represents stress and conflict, with the fulcrum point (at the square) offering a possibility of resolution.

(2) Stations are periods when, from our perspective on Earth, a planet appears to slow its movement, come to a standstill, and reverse course.  This is an optical illusion created by the triangulation between the sun, Earth, and any third celestial body; astrologically, it represents a focusing of the energies associated with that point, and often coincides with major life events or a radical recalibration of how that point has functioned previously.
