Massive Ukrainian Drone Strike in Russia

June 4, 2025

By Alex Miller

On 1 June 2025 more than 100 Ukrainian drones struck at air bases deep in Russia, targeting long-range bombers with nuclear capacity, in an attempt to cripple Moscow’s ability to prosecute the war on Ukraine, now in its third year.  Code-named “Spider Web,” the attacks, eighteen months in the planning, were carried out by drones smuggled into Russia in wood structures carried on trucks, whose local drivers were apparently unaware of the contents, and activated remotely.  Drivers had received their destinations by phone, and were stunned when the drones emerged; some tried to incapacitate them with rocks.  Moscow has downplayed the attacks, citing simply “some damage,” but Ukrainian sources allege 41 bombers were struck, and at least 13 destroyed, in locations across five Russian regions, as far as 8000km from Ukraine’s border.

The loss to Russia from the subterfuge employed is celestially portrayed by a pairing of Saturn (0 Aries), ruling loss and deprivation, and Neptune (1 Aries), ruling guile and deception, in a tight square (90 degrees) configuration with asteroid Russia (1 Cancer), itself conjunct dwarf planet Chaos (2 Cancer), ruling anarchy and disorder, and describing the seeming outcome of the attack.   A T-Square (two points in opposition (180 degrees) to each other, each squared a third point) is formed with asteroid Arachne (29 Virgo), named for a mythic weaver whom Athena transformed into a spider (giving rise to the genus name “arachnid”), calling to mind the “Spider Web” code name for the attacks.

A change in the tide of war in Ukraine’s favor could be in the offing, with asteroid Volodymyr (21 Leo), representing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, exactly conjunct Mars, ruler of armed conflict, and opposed asteroid Pallas (25 Aquarius), named for the Greek goddess of war.  Pallas is at a critical point in its cycle, slowed in its apparent movement and about to change direction, from our perspective, a metaphoric “turning point” in the fortunes of war (Pallas turns retrograde June 9th).  Given asteroid Volodymyr’s proximity to the duo, this suggests that cosmic martial energies are supportive of Ukraine and Zelenskyy’s wartime efforts.  A second T-Square is formed with a conjunction of Uranus (28 Taurus) and asteroid Moskva (25 Taurus), named for the Russian capital, squared both ends of the polarity.  This defines the target country (Moskva for Russia) of the attacks, the advanced technology used (Uranus), the element of surprise (also Uranus) and the shock to the system (Uranus again) which it created.

Regardless of the ultimate outcome, it’s no surprise that Ukraine should emerge in a positive light in the news at this time for its efforts to impede Russian bombing capability, given the Sun (spotlight, at 11 Gemini) and Mercury (news, at 14 Gemini) conjoined asteroids Ukraina (10 Gemini), named for the country, Kiev (13 Gemini), the anglicized form of its capital, Kyiv, and Bomben (11 Gemini), here representing the afflicted bombers, all clustered within four degrees of the zodiac.

With asteroid Vladimir (24 Cancer) conjoined asteroid Pax (25 Cancer), Latin for “peace,” closely squared Venus (25 Aries), ruling diplomacy, it might be time for Russian President Vladimir Putin (Vladimir) to seriously consider a negotiated end to this war.  Vladimir and Pax have been traveling together since late July 2024, never more than ten degrees apart (as repeated efforts at peace talks began and fizzled) and will remain so into late November of this year, but so far, Putin has resisted the siren song of peace, despite increased international pressure to end the conflict.
