No Kings (or Dukes, either)

The current opposition (180 degrees) between Jupiter (24 Cancer), the planet ruling royalty, and asteroid NOT (23 Capricorn), a general disqualifier or symbol of negation, heated up as the Sun (25 Libra) moved into the hot zone between them, squaring (90 degrees) both and forming a T-Square (1) in mid-October 2025.  At the second “No Kings” protest on the 18^th, some 7 million Americans took to the streets to peacefully (and often hilariously) protest US President Donald Trump’s totalitarian, authoritarian, monarchical tendencies, taking as their emblem a stylized crown with a large red X superimposed.

In big cities and small towns across the nation, throngs of Americans expressed their concerns over the troubling actions of the Trump administration, be it bullying immigration enforcement, rampant cuts to social services and layoffs of federal workers, drastic tariff and economic policy, or widespread corruption by government officials.  The protest took on an air of street festival or carnival, as protestors lampooned Trump and his associates in ways guaranteed to get under the notoriously thin skin of the Snowflake-in-Chief.  The focus (Sun) of “No (NOT) Kings (Jupiter)” was Donald Trump, as expressed celestially by asteroid Donn (18 Cancer) conjoined Jupiter, leaving no doubt of the object of the protestors’ disaffection.  As well, asteroid King (23 Scorpio) opposed Uranus (0 Gemini) tells the tale of massive protest (Uranus) against a would-be monarch (King).

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, the Jupiter/NOT opposition expressed itself as a royal abnegation, when Britian’s embattled Prince Andrew, under fire for his scandalous past relationships with notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, agreed to set aside his title as Duke of York.  In an October 17^th statement through Buckingham Palace, Andrew announced he would “no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me.” (2)  Formal removal of the title would require an Act of Parliament, but Andrew now reverts to the honorific “Prince” as his only official designation.  The step was made just weeks after the UK’s Ambassador to the US was fired for his own prior connections with Epstein.

The princely resignation is confirmed by asteroid Prinz (19 Libra), German for “prince,” joining the Sun (24 Libra) on the fulcrum of the Jupiter (royalty)/NOT (refusal, abnegation) T-Square.

Digging deeper, we can find further celestial specifics delineating the circumstances.  The Jupiter/NOT opposition also forms the spine of a Grand Trine Kite pattern (3), with trine aspects (120 degrees) from Jupiter to a grouping of asteroid Andree (25 Scorpio) with Mercury (15 Scorpio) and an exact Mars/asteroid Nemesis pairing (17 Scorpio); and a grouping of Saturn (26 Pisces) with an exact conjunction of asteroid Epstein and centaur Nessus (both 19 Pisces).  This spells out Andrew (Andree, the French form of the name) announcing (Mercury, ruling public statements) the retiring (NOT) of his royal title (Jupiter), as punishment (Saturn) for his affiliations with sex offender (Nessus, known for sexual misconduct) Jeffrey Epstein (Epstein), resulting in Andrew’s ruin (Nemesis, noted as the bringer of destruction, often self-created), related to his sexual acts (Mars).

As well, Andree squares a combination of asteroid York (23 Aquarius) with Damocles (29 Aquarius), symbolizing the impending doom (Damocles) hanging over the head of the former Duke of York (Andree, York).

The title of Duke of York is traditionally reserved for the second son of the monarch, and has a “cursed” feeling, having failed to pass from father to son in a cadet line since the 15^th century.  Prince Louis (4), second son of the Prince and Princess of Wales, sports a conjunction of the Sun with asteroid York, which also squares his Ascendant, symbolizing his public image.  He will likely be the next designee, with his marriage the most probable occasion for his elevation to the title.

Notes:  (1) A T-Square is a dynamic pattern composed of two or more planets in opposition (180 degrees), each squared (90 degrees) a third.  It represents stress and conflict, with the fulcrum point (at the square) offering a possibility of resolution.
