European Nations Rally to Ukraine
By Alex Miller
The Sun/Venus/Mars conjunction has done it again! Manifestations of this Celestial Triple Threat have been wide and varied over the course of their extended sojourn together in the heavens, but rarely has the outcome been more welcome than in an agreement reached on January 6th, whereby France and the UK have committed to supply troops to safeguard any future peace deal that may arise from the current talks to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. The breakthrough has been described as a “real milestone” by American delegation member Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump.
The Sun (16 Capricorn) pulls focus and draws attention to whatever it touches; with cosmic bedfellows Venus (16 Capricorn) and Mars (17 Capricorn) that means war (Mars) and peace (Venus). Venus also represents diplomacy and alliances, while Mars rules the military; with communicator Mercury (7 Capricorn) just joining the party, discussions and agreements (Mercury) between allies (Venus) about how best to provide support and defense (Mars) are the order of the day (Sun). The solar grouping also opposes (180 degrees) Jupiter (20 Cancer), governing foreign relations and international affairs, with an accent on providing positive developments and outcomes.
The “milestone” agreement is further imaged in asteroid Europa’s stationary stance (1). Named for the mythic eponym of the continent of Europe, currently dominated politically by the European Union, Europa standing still in the heavens, about to change apparent direction, signals a terrestrial change of attitude as well. With Europa moving forward again as of January 2nd, European leaders are ready to take next steps also, finally providing much-needed guarantees for Ukraine’s future, once a ceasefire has been declared.

The specifics are shown in a T-Square pattern (2), with TNO (3) Albion (15 Taurus), an ancient name for Britian (AKA the UK), conjoined Europa (16 Taurus), and asteroid Gallia (13 Scorpio), named for the Latin designation of the region now known as France, opposed it. Here we see the spine of the new European guarantors of Ukraine’s security. This is mirrored in the points on the fulcrum of the T-Square, squared (90 degrees) to both: asteroids Kiev (9 Leo), the anglicized version of Ukraine’s capital of Kyiv, and Ukraina (10 Leo), named for the war-torn nation itself. Also here is asteroid Washingtonia (16 Leo), granting the US imprimatur to the proceedings.
Germany, represented by asteroid Germania (21 Libra), thus far remains uncommitted, with Chancellor Friedrich Merz stating his country is “not fundamentally ruling anything out” regarding its future involvement in the plan. A square from Germania to the solar grouping, T-Squared Jupiter, suggests positive engagement in the goal of protecting Ukraine from further Russian aggression.
Underscoring the current peace talks, asteroids Bellona (26 Scorpio) and NOT (20 Aquarius) have been in square since late September 2025, and will remain so through mid-March 2026, with Bellona named for the Roman goddess of war, and NOT a general disqualifier or symbol of negation. Together these image the desire to end (NOT) the military conflict (Bellona) in Ukraine, as reflected in major proposals during that period from the US, the European coalition, and Ukraine, released in November and December, aimed at resolution of the impasse. Perhaps before the square moves out of orb, we’ll have one.
Notes: (1) Stations are periods when, from our perspective on Earth, a planet appears to slow its movement, come to a standstill, and reverse course. This is an optical illusion created by the triangulation between the sun, Earth, and any third celestial body; astrologically, it represents a focusing of the energies associated with that point, and often coincides with major life events or a radical recalibration of how that point has functioned previously.
(2) A T-Square is a dynamic pattern composed of two or more planets in opposition (180 degrees), each squared (90 degrees) a third. It represents stress and conflict, with the fulcrum point (at the square) offering a possibility of resolution.
(3) TNO is an acronym for “Trans-Neptunian Object,” a general designation referring to a class of minor bodies appearing past Neptune in the solar system, in the general region of Pluto and beyond.
